Similarities Differences
Lacrosse haven't set there self an exact date for how big they want to be and by when they just want to keep crowing, but badminton have said they want to be number 1 by 2016.

Both sports know that there sports can help the volunteers.
They both feel its important to meet the need of all participants. Both sports hold there own sports tournaments. both sports aren't that big nationally and want to change that by 2016.

Structure Regional
Similarities The south east is where badminton are most popular and hold there big tournaments. Foxboro is where lacrosse hold there biggest tournaments. Differences
Badminton has a lot more regional officers than lacrosse as badminton is based in a lot more places. Badminton regional officers have to do a lot more work than the lacrosse regional officers as lacrosse is based in fewer places they can show more attention than the badminton regional officers.

Similarities
Sport England today welcomed the news that promoting participation in sport is one of the top 20 priorities for local authorities in England.

Differences
Badminton is a single or doubles player game, where as lacrosse is a team sport of ten players at a time. In the south west there are 3 lacrosse teams, there are 5 badminton teams.

Whole Sport Plan


Similarities
Both sports want to keep getting bigger and better and plan on being number 1 by 2016 Both sports also know its important in keep the numbers growing of all age groups if they want to be the number 1. They also know its important for the quality of coaches to improve so they can improve the players.

Differences
Increase the number of persons over the age of 16 participating in lacrosse at least once per month to 13,000, with 8,900 participating each week (Active People Survey). Increase the satisfaction of members in lacrosse by at least 5%

Rule Making
Similarities
both sports contain rackets. The aim is to score more points than your opponent in the amount of time your game is on for.

Differences
Lacrosse is played by two teams of ten players each. The rules of badminton states that a badminton match shall consist of the best of 3 games. In doubles and men's singles, the first side to score 15 points wins the game. In women's singles, the first side to score 11 points wins the game. The lacrosse playing field shall be, where possible, a rectangular field 110 yards (100.58 metres) long and 60 yards (54.86 metres) wide. The rules state that a toss shall be conducted before a game starts. If you win, you can choose between serving first or to start play at either end of the court.

Differences
The Grip : Forehand and Backhand grip Field lacrosse is a full contact outdoor men's sport played with ten players on each team. The sport originated among Native Americans, and the modern rules of field lacrosse were initially codified by Canadian William George Beers in 1867.

Merchandising
Similarities
These are some of the merchandises that could be brought, Stadium seat. Fleece and nylon blankets. Oversized fleece blanket. Polo shirt.

Differences
Most local badminton clubs sell tshirts, hats, bats, shuttlecocks, and all different gadgets.

Competitions and Tournaments


Similarities Both sports hold there tournaments/competition around the same time in the summer. Differences
There are badminton 48 tournaments and competitions all around the world. In December 2011 till February 2012 at united sports there was girls youth programs, girls high school, girls middle school and girls club/travel teams. And June 15th till 17th at CASL complex Raleigh, NC) There is boys youth programs, girls youth programs, boys club/travel teams and girls club/travel teams.

Training of Officials
Similarities
A referee must judge what is and isn't a foul, weather its a point/goal or not, if the player made a good tackle or not, if the shuttle cock/ball was in or out, if it hit the net and he must do all these and more and must not favour any side.

Differences
Anywhere from two to 10 volunteers are typically present to stand at the lines and assist the referee in making these calls accurately. training consists of clinics that incorporate the Officials Training Manual, Officials Training videos, presentations by certified trainers, and practical on-thefield experience and evaluation.
