An adverb is a part of speech. Adverbs can modify verbs, adjectives , clauses, sentences and other adverbs. Adverbs can tell you how, where, when, and why do something happens. Some adverbs can be identified by their characteristic "ly" suffix

Adverbs of Manner
Adverbs of manner tell us how something happen and how an action is performed. They are often formed from adjectives or nouns be adding the suffix ly.
Suffix -ly rules : Adjectives ending -ladd -ly; careful-carefully. Adjectives ending -ychange to -ily; lucky-luckily Adjectives ending -blechange to -bly; responsibleresponsibly Adjectives ending e change to ly; true-truly
Adverb of manner
However, there is an exception. There are some adverbs which do not end in -ly. For instance: fast, hard, late, straight, etc. Examples The waves came in quickly over the rocks. I found the film incredibly dull.
Adverbs of place
Adverbs of place indicate where something happens. These include; abroad,anywhere,here,outside,somewhere, there,everywhere,etc. For example : She has lived on the island all her life. She still lives there now. The children were playing outside
Adverbs of frequency
Adverbs of frequency tell us how often something is done. These include; always,constantly,continually,frequently, infrequently,intermittently,normally,occasionally, often,periodically,rarely,regularly,seldom, sometimes,fortnightly(twoweeks),never,etc. Examples : She takes the boat to the mainland everyday. She often goes by herself. Irarely have eggs for breakfast.
Adverbs of time
Some adverbs tell us when something happened. These includes : today, yesterday, finally, eventually, afterwards, later, now, soon, already, just, still, etc. For example: She tries to get back before dark. It's starting to get dark now. She finished her tea first.
Conjunctive Adverbs
Conjunctive adverb is using to join two clauses together. Some of the most common conjunctive adverbs : also,consequently,finally,furthermore,hence, however,indeed.Instead,otherwise,nevertheless, etc. For example : He did not have all the ingredients the recipe called for; therefore, he decided to make something else. The crowd waited patiently for three hours; finally, the doors to the stadium were opened.
Position
An adverb can be found in various places within the sentence. Adverb have three main position in the sentence : 1. Front (before the subject) - Now we will study adverbs. 2. Middle (between the subject and the main verb) - We often study adverbs. 3. End (after the verb or subject) - We study adverbs carefully. _Adverb_
