Objectives/Goals for todays Class

We will finish going over the syllabus since there was little time on Day 1. Today you will be doing an evaluation drawing.

Evaluation Drawing??? Today you will be doing an evaluation drawing.

I will be requiring every student to draw the glass vase and silk flowers on your tables. This drawing is to be used as an assessment tool.

Why?
I just want to see what knowledge and skills you posess at this time before I have taught you anything. This will inform me where you are at as individuals and collectively as classes what needs to be taught as well as how advanced you are.

Take your time. Do the best that you can, but do not worry about being perfect (dont erase for half the time) I am grading you on this assignment only for completion, not based on how good you are. Do not move the flowers once people start (dont be a jerk). Use the entire sheet of paper (no teeny tiny drawings) Put your name, date and period on the back of the page, not the front. Do not tag up the drawing. Establish a figure to ground ratio (no flower vases surrounded by a snow storm)
