The diversity of living organisms, theri adaptation to water and water - shortage environment can we live without water ?
Live in water
Animals can live in water thanks to the following features: Streamlined or spindle like body shape. Flesh covered raith slime. Breathing through gills (fish, tadpole, bivalve) or through the whole surface of the body (leech). Fins, membrane betwen fingers and oar - shaped limbs which enable to move around.
Animals can live in an inshore area, in the water depths or near the bottom. They either swim or live on plants.
Frog
Flesh covered with slime. The back limbs have a membrane thanks to which frogs are an excellent swimmers. The eyes are bulging and they breath with an oxygen from the atmosphere pulling out nostrils above the water surface.
While under water the nostrilss are closed. Thanks to special coloring, the frog is imperceptible among water plants.
Adaptation to life
Empty stems; long, shiff leaves. Big, round or oval leaves flooating on the surface; long, paliable stems below the surface; shoots and sprouts above the surface. Rootless; paliable stems; tiny, ragged leaves
Fennec fox
Has long ears, whick enables him to get rid of the heat surfeit and to cod down his body temperature. The fair fur is a perfect camouflage. The hairy finger pads enable him to move easily on the hot sand. Feneec fox is a nocturnal animal which hides from the burning sun in holes.
Thanks to the charactenistic properties water plays a crucial function in life and the development of our living organisms. Without water life on Earth would simply be impossible.
