She is a chemist and has run her own orchid tissue culture and germination lab. She is an award winning ceramic artist and for a time owned an art gallery. She lives with her partner and five cats on the side of Signal Mountain in Tennessee and enjoys the deer and other critters in her front yard more than nice grass. She’s been involved in several political campaigns and describes herself as a rational progressive with a carry permit. She’s an accomplished public speaker who believes that if she makes the audience laugh, they might actually remember some of what she says. She’s the author of numerous articles and short stories.
