Over the last 18 years, Ms. Campbell has worked in the print and electronic media and provided Media & PR consultancy services on an ongoing basis for the Ministry of National Security in Trinidad and Tobago and other organisations.
As a journalist, Ms. Campbell broke many high-profiled stories and received several external and internal awards for her work. As a PR practitioner, one of Ms. Campbell’s major achievement was the production and editing of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service's (TTPS) newsletter entitled, 'Policing for People'.
Commenting on Ms. Campbell’s PR stint at the TTPS, retired Commissioner of Police, Trevor Paul, said, "During my tenure as Commissioner of Police, Ms. Campbell was assigned to the Public Affairs Unit of the Police Service for a period of time. Her contribution in improving the relationship between the media and the police is quite noteworthy. The production of the Police Department's Newsletter was her initiative and in which her input was tremendous. From my interaction with her then, it was quite evident that she possesses those innate personal characteristics that are found in an effective and productive person".
In addition to providing Media/PR consultancy services, Ms. Campbell is also a part-time lecturer with the UWI School of Business and Applied Studies Limited. She also lectured part-time at the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT). Students find her lectures inspiring.

Former Chair of COSTAATT’s English and Communications Department also spoke highly of Ms. Campbell. “She taught courses in the Journalism/Public Relations programme. As her immediate supervisor, I found Ms. Campbell to be a take-charge person, and one who was able to present creative ideas for the betterment of the course. She is also an excellent team player".
From an academic standpoint, Ms. Campbell is the holder of a Master of Arts Degree in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester, England. Her thesis, entitled 'Newspaper Crime Reporting in Trinidad and Tobago: A Comparative Analysis' was well-received in combined comments from Kostas Saltzis and Olga Linne, associate tutors at the Department of Media and Communications, University of Leicester.
Said Saltzis and Linne, “This is a well organised and carefully presented piece of work. It sets clear objectives, which are addressed through a systematic content analysis. It demonstrates independence of thinking and ability to carry out research. You draw from a range of well-chosen primary and secondary sources and your theoretical framework is thoughtful. You have organized the dissertation well and your arguments cover many of the relevant issues”.
Speaking to Ms. Campbell thesis’ research methodology, Saltzis and Linne said, “The chapter on your research design explains in a thorough and organised way the various steps in your research. The research questions are linked to the literature review and your content analysis is designed in a systematic way. Your discussion of the coding process is intelligent and your discussion about content analysis precise and well informed”.
Ms. Campbell is also the holder of an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the COSTAATT. Her thesis, entitled ‘Untold Stories’, was also well received by the college. It was on completion of this degree that Ms. Campbell became an adjunct lecturer at the COSTAATT.
Ms. Campbell also co-produced a 32-page magazine for the TTPS, entitled 'Developing the Leadership Mastery of Regional Female Law Enforcement Officers'. She has also done certificate courses in several areas of study including crisis communication and broadcasting.
Notwithstanding her busy schedule, Ms. Campbell plans to conduct independent pioneer studies in various spheres, findings of which may be used by other researchers.lihat lebih sedikit
