Pembangunan Tembok Yerusalem

Setelah Bait Allah dibangun di bawah pimpinan Ezra, maka Tuhan mengutus Nehemia untuk melengkapi Yerusalem dengan pembangunan tembok. Dan ini adalah panggilan Tuhan untuk setiap Kristen untuk kehidupan kekristenan dan keluarga Kristen mereka. Setiap Kristen harus memiliki tembok pertahanan ini.

Kepentingannya: Its A Main Defensive Tools.

Dan untuk membangun ini diperlukan usaha keras dan sangat serius, karena ini bukan karunia atau pemberian Tuhan semata, tetapi sesuatu yang dibangun dan diletakkan selangkah demi selangkah, batu demi batu diperlukan hikmat dan kebijaksanaan Ilahi untuk mengerjakan hal ini.

Bagi kita dan kekristenan kita sekarang ini sebenarnya apa yang disebut dengan Defensive Tools ini adalah:
1. Kelemahlembutan dan kerendahan hati. Karena kelemahlembutan dan kerendahan hati ini akan menghasilkan hikmat dan kebijaksanaan ilahi Matius 11:28-29. Yakobus 3:13 ITB: Siapakah di antara kamu yang bijak dan berbudi? Baiklah ia dengan cara hidup yang baik menyatakan perbuatannya oleh hikmat yang lahir dari kelemahlembutan. The Message: Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here's what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It's the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. Amplified Bible: Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom. KJV: Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.1

2. Takut akan Tuhan.

Karena takut akan Tuhan akan menghasilkan perlindungan yang kuat bagi kita dan keluarga kita. Amsal 14:26-27 ITB: Dalam takut akan TUHAN ada ketenteraman yang besar, bahkan ada perlindungan bagi anak-anak-Nya. Takut akan TUHAN adalah sumber kehidupan sehingga orang terhindar dari jerat maut. The Message: The Fear-of-GOD builds up confidence, and makes a world safe for your children. The Fear-of-GOD is a spring of living water so you won't go off drinking from poisoned wells. KJV: In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. 27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.2

Amsal 22:4 ITB: Ganjaran kerendahan hati dan takut akan TUHAN adalah kekayaan, kehormatan dan kehidupan. The Message: The payoff for meekness and Fear-of-GOD is plenty and honor and a satisfying life. KJV: By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life. 3

Amsal 19:23 ITB: Takut akan Allah mendatangkan hidup, maka orang bermalam dengan puas, tanpa ditimpa malapetaka. Amplified Bible: The reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it rests satisfied; he cannot be visited with [actual] evil. KJV: The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.4
