Titrasi Netralisasi
Titrasi netralisasi digunakan untuk menentukan
kadar analit yang bersifat asam/basa atau zat
yang dapat diubah menjadi asam/basa.
Air digunakan sebagai pelarut karena mudah
diperoleh,
p
, murah,, tidak beracun dan mempunyai
p y
koefisien suhu muai yang rendah.
Beberapa analit tidak dapat dititrasi dalam air
karena kelarutannya rendah atau memiliki
kekuatan asam/ basa yg tidak memadai untuk
mencapai titik akhir, senyawa demikian biasanya
ditritrasi bebas air.

Jika perubahan warna pada TAT tidak tajam, dapat digunakan campuran dua
indikator atau gunakan campuran indikator + zat warna background, sehingga
menghasilkan perubahan warna yang tajam pada pH tertentu

Summary
Choice of indicator
Strong
g acid and strong
g base.
For 0.1 M or more concentrated solutions,
any indicator may be used which has a range
between the limits pH 4
4.5
5 and pH 9
9.5.
5 With
0.01 M solutions, the pH range is somewhat
smaller (5.5-8.5). If carbon dioxide is present,
either the solution should be boiled while still
acid and the solution titrated when cold, or an
indicator with a range below pH 5 should be
employed.

The second stoichiometric end point is given
approximately by

As a general rule,
rule wherever an indicator does not give a sharp end
point, it is advisable to prepare an equal volume of a comparison
solution containing the same quantity of indicator and of the final
products

In cases where it proves impossible to find a suitable indicator (and
this will occur when dealing with strongly coloured solutions) then

It should also be noted that if it is possible to work in a non-aqueous
solution rather than in water
water, then acidic and basic properties may
be altered according to the solvent chosen, and titrations which are
difficult in aqueous solution may then become easy to perform.
