A. Organisasi Gerombolan (Band)

1. Kelompok tidak menetap

2. Kelompok kecil yang otonom
3. Organisasi tidak kompleks
4. Terdiri dari pria/wanita yang masih sekerabat
5. Dipimpin oleh orang tua yang mahir berburu dan berperang
(Primus Interpares)

B. Organisasi Kesukuan

1. Sistem desentralisasi kekuasaan, di mana ketua suku (Triber)

mempersatukan gerombolan
2. Organisasinya tidak formal dan bersifat sementara
3. Keputusan suku diambil atas dasar mufakat di mana orang yang
paling berpengaruhlah yang bertanggungjawab atas putusan

C. Organisasi Kekerabatan

Dalam banyak masyarakat kesukuan , unit organisasi dan pemegang

kekuasaan adalah Klen (asosiasi orang-orang yang menganggap
dirinya titisan leluhur yang sama

D. Organisasi Golongan Umur

1. Merupakan lembaga organisasi politik dalam kesukuan di luar

kelompok kekerabatan
2. Dalam sistem ini kaum remaja biasanya waktu akil baligh
diinisiasikan ke dalam golongan umur, diberi pelajaran adatistiadat dan kebiasaan kesukuan serta keagamaan

E. Masyarakat Berpemimpin (Chiefdom)

1. Adalah masyarakat yang bertingkat-tingkat, di mana setiap

anggotanya menduduki suatu tempat dalam hirarki
2. Jabatan pemimpin (kepala) itu dapat turun-temurun, berbeda
dengan pemimpin gerombolan (Band) yang harus seorang
penguasa sejati
3. Di puncak hirarkinya para bangsawan adalah pemimpinnya

F. Organisasi Negara

1. Organisasi Politik yang paling formal dan merupakan salah satu

tonggak peradaban
2. Dalam konsep negara terkandung gagasan tentang pemerintahan
yang permanen, umum, tertinggi, sehingga negara dapat
menggunakan kekerasan dengan sah untuk mengatur warganya,
contoh: hukuman mati bagi terorisme

Pengendalian Sosial

1. Internal
Kepercayaan yang tertanam begitu dalam pada setiap orang
sehingga setiap orang secara pribadi menjadi bertanggungjawab
atas perilakunya
2. Eksternal
Orang menyesuaikan diri dengan norma-norma yang berlaku
melalui lembaga-lembaga sanksi
Menurut Radcliffe Brown: Sanksi adalah reaksi dari pihak
masyarakat terhadap bentuk perilaku yang dengan demikian
mendapat pensahan (saksi positif) atau pencelaan (sanksi negatif)

Pengendalian Sosial

Sanksi harus diterapkan secara konsisten dan adanya sanksi harus

secara umum diketahui oleh semua anggota masyarakat .
Fiksi Hukum => Setiap orang dianggap tahu hukum
Sanksi Positif => terdiri atas insentif penyesuaian diri, pemberian
gelar, hadiah, dll
Sanksi negatif => terdiri atas ancaman penjara, pengucilan dari
masyarkat
