While looking around, he saw a very huge castle. He was very amazed. Then Jack walked along the path leading to the castle. There was a big tall woman on the doorstep. Jack greeted her and asked for the giantess, mercy to give him breakfast, because he felt very hungry. Although the giantess grumbled at first, finally she gave Jack a hunk of bread and cheese and a jug of milk. Jack hadnt finished when the whole house began to tremble with the noise of someones coming. Oh! Its my husband! cried the giantess. Whats on earth shall I do? NARASI Narasi adalah cerita. Cerita ini berdasarkan pada urut-urutan suatu (atau serangkaian) kejadian atau peristiwa. Di dalam kejadian itu ada tokoh (atau beberapa tokoh), dan tokoh ini mengalami atau menghadapi suatu (atau serangkaian) konflik atau tikaian. Kejadian, tokoh, dan konflik ini merupakan unsur pokok sebuah narasi, dan ketiganya secara kesatuan bisa juga disebut plot, atau alur. Dengan demikian, narasi adalah cerita berdasarkan alur. Narasi bisa berisi fakta atau non-fiksi dan bisa pula berisi rekaan atau fiksi. Yang berisi fakta, misalnya biografi, otobiografi. Sedangkan yang berisi rekaan misalnya novel, cerita pendek, cerita bersambung, dan lain sebagainya. Struktur teks Narrative terdiri diri : 1. Orientation ( pendahuluan cerita) : Memperkenalkan tokoh-tokoh dalam cerit latar/ setting cerita, waktu kejadian cerita, tokoh utama cerita. 2. Complication : Munculnya permasalahan di antara tokoh-tokoh tersebut. Meliputi situasi, kejadian , atau peristiwa yang mendorong terjadinya klimaks atau komplikasi. 3. Resolution : Masalah dapat di atasi dan merupakan akhir dari cerita. Karakteristik teks Narrative: 1. Menggunkan past tense 2. Biasanya di mulai dengan adverb ( kata keterangan waktu) seperti long time ago , once upon a time , in a faraway land, dll. 3. Menggunakan kata hubung ( conjunction), seperti then , after that, before, dll. Materi terlampir.
