Di Indonesia, saat ini jagung adalah komoditi tanaman pangan terpenting kedua setelah padi. Sehingga tidak
mengherankan jika tejadi peningkatan produktivitas jagung. Tetapi bonggol jagung masih belum banyak dimanfaatkan
secara sempurna. Maka diperlukan suatu alat yang dapat menunjang tersedianya jagung secara cepat setelah masa panen
dan menunjang pemanfaatan bonggol yang lebih baik daripada hanya sekedar dibuang begitu saja. Sebelum
merencanakan alat tersebut. Maka terlebih dahulu kami melakukan suatu survey dan pengamatan pada mesin pemipil
jagung dan penghancur yang sudah ada sebelumnya, lalu menggambar sketsa bentuk alat yang akan di buat, kemudian
dilakukan perhitungan-perhitungan untuk menganalisa komponen yang akan dibuat supaya sesuai dengan yang
diingankan. Dari perencanaan ini didapatkan daya motor diesel 8 Hp dengan asumsi putaran yang dipakai 1300 Rpm
yang mempunyai kapasitas 1.25 ton /jam untuk pemipil jagung dan 375 kg/jam untuk penghancur bonggol jagung.

In Indonesia, corn is the most second important food crop commodity after rice right now. So that it is not surprising that
the productivity of corn has been increasing lately. In the other hand, the corncob has not been widely and perfectly used
yet. For overcoming that problem, we need a machine that can support rapid availability of corn after harvest time and
hold up the use of the corncob better than just thrown it away. Before planning the machine, firstly we did some surveys
and observations on corn sheller and crusher machine which has already existed. After that, we drew the sketch of a tool
that would be created then did the calculations to analyze the components that would be made, so the machine will fit as
the desired. From those planning, has been obtained the motor power 8 Hp with asumtion revolution is 1300 Rpm which
has the capacity 1.25 ton/hour for corn sheller and 375 kg/hour for corncob crusher.
