ASAL MULA KAMPUNG ARUS

Pada zaman dahulu kala hidup moyang yang berkebun di tempat yang bernama FRA MAIR atau
di sebut ARUS WASA-KAMI-KAMIU, pada waktu itu mereka membersihkan lahan tersebut
sampai kepada pembakaran untuk berkebun pada sore hari. Mereka beristirahat dan akan
melanjutkannya pada esok hari, pada keesokan harinya pagi-pagi mereka bangun dan melihat
lahan yang sudah dibersihkan dari atas rumah pohon tempat mereka tinggal dan ternyata tumbuh
pohon ARUS atau dalam bahasa Indonesia disebut ganemo atau malinjo di atas lahan yang sudah
mereka bersihkan kemarin, dengan begitu banyaknya memenuhi lahan tersebut. Pada waktu
pertama kali mereka lihat dari atas rumah pohon pikir mereka itu adalah sayur bayam tetapi pada
saat mereka turun untuk melihat dan mengamati secara dekat ternyata yang mereka lihat dari atas
itu bukanlah sayur bayam tetapi sayur melinjo/ganemo yang dalam bahasa maybrat disebut Arus,
pohonnya sedang bertumbuh, melihat itu maka moyang dari ARUS WASA-KAMI-KAMIU
mengambil kesimpulan bahwa itu adalah suatu kejadian yang aneh atau pamali sehingga mereka
memilih untuk pindah tempat baru meninggalkan area tersbut mencari tempat tinggal dan lahan
yang baru bagi mereka karena menurut mereka jika mereka tetap bertahan disitu mereka pasti
akan mati karena salah menyentuh atau salah memakannya.
Menurut cerita moyang zaman dulu pada masa penjajahan Bangsa Belanda mempunyai kepala
HPP atau KPS yang disebut sekarang oleh pemerintah Indonesia adalah kepala Distrik
melakukan perjalanan dinas ke kampong-kampung sampai di Arus dan mereka melihat ada
pohon arus yang bagus, daunnya hijau-hijau dan menarik bagi mereka akhirnya mereka petik
sebagai bahan makanan di ibu kota HPP atau KPS yaitu di AYAMARU, melihat itu penduduk
setempat saling berkata satu dengan yang lainnya bahwa lihat saja nanti setelah memakannya
mereka smua akan mati, tetapi beberapa waktu kemudian mereka kembali mengambilnya untuk
makan kejadian itu membuat penduduk setempat kaget dan heran, akhirnya lama kelamaan hal
itu berlangsung maka mereka juga mulai mencobanya dan tidak terjadi apa-apa pada diri mereka
sampai detik ini. Orang belanda yang berkunjung ke kampung Arus pada waktu itu berpangkat
MAYOR bertnya kepada salah seorang tua-tua di kampung itu bahwa tempat tumbuh malinjo ini
bernama apa lalu tua-tua itu menjawab tempat ini nm ARUS MARA lalu MAYOR asal Belanda
ini melantik tua-tua tersebut sebagai MAYOR ARUS dan akhirnya kampung itu terkenal dengan
nama kampung ARUS yang sekarang sudah menjadi ibukota kecamatan dari distrik Ayamaru
selatan jaya di kabupaten Maybrat.

ORIGIN STORY OF ARUS VILLAGE

In long time ago, there were living the grandparents of Maybrat people who made
agricultural field in a place with name FRA MAIR or ARUS WASA-KAMI-KAMIU. At the time
the grandparents of Maybrat people was cleaning that field, burned ti so they can make garden
there. They did it until afternoon, and then they took a rest will continue it tomorrow. In the early
morning of that day they woke up and saw down from the tree house and they found that, the
field where they have cleaned has already grown with some of weird tree, and it known in
Indonesia language as a MELINJO or GANEMU tree. And that field was full with that tree. At
the first time they saw it, they thought that tree was spinach vegetable, but when they go down
and looked carefully, its actually was not spinach but Melinjo or Ganemu tree. Where in
Maybrat language as ARUS tree.
To see that happening the grandparents of ARUS WASA-KAMI-KAMIU, took conclude
that it was mystic happening or in Indonesia language kwon as a PAMALI. So they choose to
leave that place and moved to another place, because if they kept to staying there they will die,
because they will touch and eat that tree leaf.
Based on the story of old people long-long time ago, in Dutch colonialism, they have
HPP or KPS that known now as the head of village. At the moment they did their official trip to
the all of villages and then they saw that tree with is fresh and green leaf. They took it as a
vegetable and carried with them in the city of Ayamaru. When the local people saw they was so
amazed and discussed about that, and said that, just looking them all will die because they have
eaten the leaf of that tree. But a few days later nothing happen and they were still alive, and back
again to that place to take that leaf for eating. That thing made all local people there feel amazed.
And finally after long time the local people also started try to eat that tree leaf and nothing bad
happen until this day.
Dutch people who visited ARUS village at that time, asked to the old man there, about
the name of that place where the MALINJO or GANEMU tree was growing. And the olds man
said that, this place name ARUS MARA, and the leader of Dutch people was inducted the old
man in that village as leader of ARUS village. And that village known as ARUS village and has
cecome the capital of the south Ayamaru district in Maybrat regency.
