Typhoid Fever Patients Hospitalized in
2013 in Tabanan General Hospital.
Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria. This disease is related to the
bad or unhealthy environment and poor personal hygiene. This research aimed at
identifying the characteristic of typhoid fever patients hospitalized in 2013 in
Tabanan General Hospital. This research uses the instrument of the descriptive
method the cases series with the retrospective approach and with the total random
sampling data of 239 patients by using the observation sheet. The data was
analysed using SPSS 17. From such a research can be obtained the proportions of
typhoid fever patients hospitalized is the highest sociodemographic proportion are
the adults (18 to 60 years old) obtained 37.7 %, female patients are obtained 52.3
%, balinese patients are obtained 94.6 %, the hindus patients are obtained 94.6 %
and patients outside of Tabanan Regency are obtained 86.6 %. The highest
subjective symptoms of such a fever is 100.0 %. The highest objective symptoms
of the fever with the widal test is 99.6 % and leukopenia is 25.1 %. The longest
duration of fever of the infected patients is 3 days are obtained 33.0 %. The
longest duration of hospitalized of the infected patients is 4 days are obtained 33.5
%. The highest status of no complication is 73.4 %. The highest type of
complication of the fever is anemia are obtained 25.1 %. The highest condition of
the patients when they were allowed to go home is clinically healed or recovered
is 51.0 %. The highest antibiotic form of using cephalosporin is 76.2 %. The
highest health guarantee insurance of the general guarantee is 38.1 %. For the
healing patients are expected to keep their physical health, their healthy food, their
source of healthy drinking water and their healthy environment in order to avoid
to be the patients that can make other people infected of such a disease.
