Penerapan program KB pria vasektomi

Layanan KB vasektomi yang diterapkan di Surabaya bekerja sama dengan Badan

Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Keluarga Berencana (Bapemas KB) kota Surabaya dan
BKKBN Provinsi Jawa Timur. KB vasektomi dipilih karena tidak semua kaum
perempuan cocok dengan alat kontrasepsi yang ada. di sisi lain, tidak hanya kaum
perempuan yang dapat mengikuti program KB, kaum laki-laki pun juga bisa
melakukannya. Program KB MOP atau vasektomi menjadi salah satu target yang ingin
dicapai Bapemas KB kota Surabaya. Hal itu disebabkan karena jumlah akseptor KB laki-
laki jauh lebih sedikit dibanding perempuan. Bapemas KB melakukan usaha dalam
bentuk sosialisasi, yang turut melibatkan kaum lelaki yang telah menjadi akseptor KB
MOP. Tujuannya adalah agar dapat menarik minat kaum lelaki yang belum menjadi
akseptor KB MOP. Para akseptor KB MOP ini dapat memberikan testimony bahwa
vasektomi sepenuhnya aman bagi pria. Menurut Kepala Bapemas KB Kota Surabaya,
pada tahun 2012, kota Surabaya telah berhasil memenuhi target pencapaian program KB
yang ditetapkan BKKBN provinsi Jawa TImur, yaitu sebesae 112 persen atau sebanyak
66 ribu pasangan usia subur. Meningkatnya program KB pria Vasektomi ini
menghasilkan penghargaan khusus untuk kota Surabaya pada tahun 2014 kategori
kesehatan ibu dan anak melalui pembentukan kelompok KB pria vasektomi. Dengan
meningkatnya partisipasi dalam program KB dan kesehatan reproduksi, diharapkan
mampu menciptakan kesetaraan dan keadilan gender.

Walaupun jumlah partisipan program KB pria vasektomi meningkat di tahun-tahun
tertentu, namun jumlahnya masih dikatakan minim. Faktor ini disebabkan kinerja
implementasi program KB vasektomi yang tidak mencapai target dikarenakan strategi
sosialisasi yang dilakukan kurang tepat sehingga penyampaian pesan dan pemahaman
mengenai program tidak sampai langsung ke target yang dituju.
