14. A group of a students found that the level of water pollution in the area they are living
in has reached a critical point. Due to human activities, waste matter from industrial
and domestic sources which are dissolved or suspended in water contributes to the
deterioration of water quality. The water quality is tested by using methylene blue
solution. The shorter the time taken for the methylene blue solution to turn clear, the
less dissolved oxygen there is. Hence, the water is contaminated.
(i) Water samples from three different sources of water (tap, river and well) are
collected.
