ABSTRAK

COPING MECHANISM KONSUMSI PANGAN POKOK DAN STATUS GIZI BALITA


KELUARGA MISKIN DI DESA FATUMNUTU KECAMATAN POLEN, Miranti Koa,
Stefanus P. Manongga, Sarci M. Toy, xiii + 113 halaman + 9 Lampiran

Fatumnutu merupakan desa dengan jumlah penduduk miskin terbanyak (61,3%), tetapi memiliki
jumlah kasus gizi buruk pada balita terendah (13,6%) tahun 2015. Data ini membuktikan bahwa
kemiskinan tidak sepenuhnya berdampak pada status gizi balita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui strategi yang dipakai untuk mempertahankan konsumsi pangan pokok dan status gizi
balita di Desa Fatumnutu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey analitik dengan rancangan
cross sectional menggunakan uji regresi logistic dan kruskal-wallis. Penelitian ini dilakukan
pada bulan September 2016. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh keluarga miskin yang
memiliki balita dan 57 KK terpilih sebagai sampel menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan 58% responden berpendidikan rendah, 66,7% adalah petani, 56,1%
berpendapatan cukup dan 66,7% termasuk kategori keluarga besar. Faktor karakteristik social
ekonomi yang berpengaruh terhadap coping mechanism adalah pekerjaan KK. Coping
mechanism memiliki pengaruh terhadap jenis konsumsi pangan pokok tetapi tidak memiliki
pengaruh terhadap frekuensi. Coping mechanism memiliki pengaruh terhadap status gizi balita
dipengatuhi oleh Pekerjaan KK. Pekerjaan memiliki beda terhadap coping mechanism dan status
gizi balita. Strategi coping mechanism yang sudah dilakukan agar dipertahankan serta
masyarakat diharapkan mampu berinovasi untuk meningkatkan konsumsi pangan pokok dan
status gizi.

COPING MECHANISM OF STAPLE FOOD CONSUMPTION AND NUTRITION OF
STATUS IN POOR FAMILIES IN FATUMNUTU VILLAGE POLEN DISTRICT,
Miranti Koa, Stefanus P. Manongga, Sarci M. Toy, xiii + 113 pages + 9 Attachments
Fatumnutu is a village with the highest number of poor people (61,3%). The village has the
lowest malnutrition case in under fives years old (13,6%) in 2015. This data implies that poverty
does not fully affect the nutrition status of children under five years old. This study aims to
determine the strategies used to maintain the consumption of staple foods and nutritional status
of children under five years old in the village of Fatumnutu. The type of this research is analytic
survey with cross-sectional design using logistic and kruskal-wallis regression test. This study
was conducted in September 2016. The population of this study was all poor families who had a
toddler and 57 families selected as samples using cluster sampling technique. The results showed
that 58% of the respondents were low educated, 66.7% were farmers, 56.1% had enough income
and 66.7% belonged to the big family category. Factors of socio-economic characteristics
affecting the coping mechanism was the work of the head of family. Coping mechanisms had an
influence on the type of staple food consumption but had no effect on the frequency. Work had
an influence on the nutritional status of children under five years old. Work had different coping
mechanism and nutritional status of children. Coping mechanisms that has been done need to be
maintained and the community is expected to increase the consumption of staple food and
nutritional status.
