ABSTRAK

Segala aktifitas pembangunan dilakukan diatas media permukaaan bumi,

dan yang menjadi kebutuhan utama dalam pembangunan tersebut adalah tanah
dan batuan, maka perlu dilakukan penelitian kualitas batuan maupun tanah, karena
kualitas pembangunan pada rekayasa tambang, maupun pembangunan
infrastruktur pada suatu daerah maupun pekerjaan lain sangat erat kaitannya
dengan kualitas batuan dimaksud. Maka penelitian kualitas batuan perlu dilakukan
manyangkut, kekerasan dan kekuatan pada batuan, untuk mengetahui kemampuan
batuan tersebut dapat menerima beban yang disebabkan oleh aktifitas manusia.
Sehingga penelitian perlu dilakukan terhadap sifat fisik maupun sifat mekanik
batuan. Melalui pengujian di laboratorium, agar kualitas diketahui melalui
parameter-parameter pengujian bobot isi yaitu untuk mengetahui kepadatan pada
batuan dimaksud, berat jenis yaitu untuk mengetahui daya serap batuan terhadap
air, porositas yaitu untuk mengetahui volume pori-pori batuan yang dapat
dimasuki partikel lain. Karena ketiga parameter diatas akan mempengaruhi sifat
mekanik dari batuan yaitu kekuatan batuan.

 ABSTRACK

All media development activities perfomed on the earth’s surface. And is a

major requirement in the construction is soil and rock, it is necessary to study
rocks and soil quality, as the quality of developments in the region as well as other
work is closely associated with the quality of the rock referred to. Then resear
needs to be done regarding the quality of the rock, the rock hardness and strength
to checking the abilty these rock scan accept the burden caused by humn activity.
So the studies need to be done on the physical properties of rocks, as well as the
mechanical properties of rocks. Trough testing in the laboratory, so that the
quality of the rock known trought assay a parameters determines the amount of
water that the water content in the rock, the weight of the contens of is to known
that density at the rocks, density is to determinate the absorption of rocks in the
water. Due to the above three parameters that affect the mechanical properties of
the rock that is the power of the rock.
