ABSTRACT
RST. Tk. III DR. Reksodiwiryo Padang patients with appendiktomi in 2015
is as many as 365 people, while the year 2016 increased to 386 people, 2017 visitors
with appendiktomi increased to as many as 417 people. Almost all surgery results in
pain. One type of relaxation used in decreasing the intensity of pain after surgery is
by relaxing the finger grip. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of
handheld relaxation technique on the intensity of pain in Patients Post Appendiktomi
in Surgery Room RST TK III Dr. Reksodiwiryo Padang in 2018
This type of research uses quasi experiment research design with approach.
Population of all apendiktomi patients in Surgery Room RST TK III Dr. Reksodiwiryo
71 people. A sample of 15 intervention groups and 15 control groups. Sampling
technique purposive sampling. The study was conducted from January to July 2018.
Data were analyzed univariat using frequency distribution table and bivariate using
dependent T-test dependent test with 95% confidence level α = 0,05.
The results showed an average of pain intensity in the intervention group
before the handheld relaxation technique was relaxed with mean value of 6.73 and
after the mean of 3.00. The mean intensity of pain in the control group before the
mean value of 6.4 and after the mean of 5.00. There is an influence of finger hand
relaxation techniques on the intensity of pain in post appendictomies in the RST
surgical room. TK. III DR. Reksodiwiryo Padang in 2018.
It was concluded that the hand-held finger relaxation technique can reduce
the pain of appendic- tomy patients. It is expected that the Head or Head of the
Surgery Room implements the implementation of nonpharmacologic therapy in the
postoperative patient apendiktomi in the form of a hand-held relaxation technique to
decrease the intensity of pain.
