Google Inc. adalah perusahaan multinasional Amerika Serikat yang bergerak di bidang
layanan dan produk internet seperti mesin pencari, komputasi web, perangkat lunak, dan
periklanan daring. Perusahaan ini didirikan oleh alumni Stanford University yaitu Larry
Page dan Sergey Brin. Pada tahun 1996, mereka membangun sebuah mesin pencari
(awalnya bernama BackRub) yang menggunakan link untuk menentukan pentingnya
halaman web individu. Larry dan Sergey hanya 16% dari saham perusahaan, maka pada
tanggal 4 September 1998, mereka membuat Google Inc. sebagai perusahaan swasta.

Seperti Google Maps yang terbentuk pada tahun 2005. Lalu diikuti Google Calendar dan
Google Finance di tahun 2006 bersama dengan keberhasilannya mengakuisisi saham
platform YouTube. Memasuki tahun 2008, Google Chrome akhirnya resmi diluncurkan
sebagai platform browser dan diikuti peluncuran Google Voice pada tahun 2009. Melihat
perkembangannya dari waktu ke waktu yang kian cepat tentu saja Google kini sudah
menjelma menjadi perusahaan teknologi yang syarat akan kecanggihan dan kemajuannya.

Tentu saja hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk mereka yang berbasis
teknologi. Selain dikenal sebagai mesin pencari yang populer, Google telah berhasil
mengembangkan beberapa produk layanan dalam basis teknologi daring (internet).

pegawai Google mendapatkan penghasilan tak kurang dari USD 141.000 atau sama setara
dengan Rp 1,3 miliar per tahun dengan kurs saat itu. Gaji insinyur software Google rata-
rata mencapai USD 128.336 atau sekitar Rp 1,2 miliar per tahun.
