In some women, symptoms are so mild that they go unnoticed.
Many women with gonorrhea discharge think they have a yeast
infection and self-treat with over-the-counter yeast infection drug.

Diagnosa
1. Sediaan langsung dengan pewarnaan
gram akan ditemukan diplokokus gram
negatif, intraseluler dan ekstraseluler, leukosit
polimorfonuklear.
2. Tes definitif, tes oksidasi (semua golongan
Neisseria akan bereaksi positif), tes fermentasi
(kuman gonokokus hanya meragikan
glukosa)
3. Tes Thomson dengan menampung urin
pagi dalam dua gelas. Tes ini digunakan
untuk mengetahui sampai dimana infeksi
sudah berlangsung.
