Definisi Diabetes Melitus

Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan suatu kelompok penyakit

metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia yang terjadi karena
kelainan sekresi insulin, kerja insulin atau kedua-duanya.

Diabetes juga diartikan sebagai suatu kondisi kronis yang

disebabkan oleh kekurangan insulin relatif atau mutlak tidak
terdapat insulin.
 Gejala Diabetes Melitus

1. Keluhan“TRIAS”
• Banyak minum
• Banyak kencing, dan
• Penurunan berat badan yang tak
jelas sebabnya.

2.Kadar glukosa darah pada waktu puasa ≥

126mg/dl.

3. Kadar glukosa darah dua jam

sesudah makan ≥ 200 mg/dl

sa (GDP) sehingga baik dikonsumsi sebagai obat diabetes alami.
