Pengertian Sistem
▪ Secara etimologis,
Sistem berasal dari bahasa Latin (systēma) dan bahasa Yunani (sustēma)
adalah suatu kesatuan yang terdiri atas komponen atau elemen yang
dihubungkan bersama untuk memudahkan aliran informasi, materi, atau energi
untuk mencapai suatu tujuan.

▪ Secara umum,
Sistem adalah sekelompok komponen dan elemen yang digabungkan menjadi
satu untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu.

Sistem Informasi Manajemen digunakan pada sasaran kalangan manajerial. Kalangan manjerial merupakan setiap
individu yang memiliki posisi yang bertugas untuk melakukan manajemen pada suatu divisi atau bagian di dalam organisasi atau
perusahaan. Level manajerial biasanya ditandai dengan jabatan manajer, pimpinan, ataupun ketua pelaksana.
Dengan adanya sistem informasi manajemen akan sangat memudahkan para pegawai yang berada pada level manajerial
untuk lebih bisa bekerja secara efisien dan tepat waktu, serta mempermudah pengambilan keputusan, serta pengawasan terhadap
bawahannya.
