 PENGENALAN AUTOCAD
AutoCAD adalah software desain CAD untuk
menggambar 2 dimensi maupun 3 dimensi.
Perangkat lunak ini resmi dirilis pada bulan
Desember 1982 oleh Autodesk, Inc, yaitu
perusahaan multinasional yang bermarkas di
kota Mill Valley, California. AutoCAD merupakan
aplikasi desktop yang berjalan pada
mikrokomputer dengan pengontrol grafis
internal. Program ini berjenis CAD (Computer-
aided Design) yang dapat membantu
pembuatan, modifikasi, analisis, atau
pengoptimalan desain. Dengan software
AutoCAD desainer akan lebih produktif,
meningkatkan kualitas desain, memudahkan
komunikasi melalui dokumentasi, dan untuk
membuat database manufaktur dalam bentuk 2
dimensi (2D) maupun 3 dimensi (3D).

AutoCAD berawal dari program yang dimulai pada
tahun 1977, dan kemudian dirilis pada 1979 yaitu
Interact CAD. Selain itu juga masuk dalam
dokumen Autodesk awal sebagai MicroCAD, ditulis
sebelum pembentukan Autodesk (Marinchip
Software Partners) oleh pendiri Autodesk Michael
Riddle. Autodesk memulai versi pertama dengan
menunjukkan pameran Comdex tahun 1982 dan
mulailah dirilis pada bulan Desember. Pada tahun
2000-an software CAD telah tersedia gratis dan
open source, juga adanya biaya tinggi untuk CAD
3D canggih dapat membantu pertumbuhan pasar
perangkat lunak CAD. Untuk paket software CAD
yang gratis dan open source meliputi BRL-CAD
untuk Angkatan Darat AS, LibreCAD, FreeCAD,
dan lainnya
 1. Jalankan Command : UN (Unit) lalu tekan enter
2. Selanjutnya pada layar muncul kotak dialog
pengaturan drawing unit seperti pada gambar
3. Pada bagian length, atur type pada decimal dan
precision 0,00
4. Pada bagian angel, atur type pada decimal degree
dan precision 0
5. Kosongkan checkbox clockwise untuk menentukan
sudut berputar berlawanan dengan arah jarum jam
6. Pada bagian insertion scale, atur unit to scale
inserted conten pada cm (tentukan saja sesuai
dengan keinginan anda menggambar)
7. Pada bagian lighting atur pada international. Jika
sudah selesai klik Ok untuk keluar jendela dan
memulai menggambar
Setelah anda menyelesaikan langkah pengaturan unit
satuan ini, pastikan anda juga melakukan 
setting OSNAP agar anda siap melakukan
penggambaran di AutoCAD

Rectangular (Persegiempat)
Perintah Rectangle dipergunakan untuk membuat objek
persegiempat. Pada COMMAND TEXT, perintah ini
dijalankan dengan mengetikkan “REC” dan diikuti
menekan tombol enter atau spasi
Polyline
Polyline adalah jenis garis yang terdiri dari beberapa garis
namun masih dalam satu entity atau unit. Dengan COMMAND
TEXT, perintah ini dijalankan dengan mengetikkan “PL” dan
diikuti menekan tombol enter atau spasi. Garis dapat
dimodifikasi menjadi arc, halfwidth, length, undo
Objek Garis (LINE)
Perintah untuk menggambarkan objek garis dapat dilakukan
dengan menggunakan 3 (tiga) cara, yaitu: (1) melalui
COMMAND TEXT, (2) Toolbar, dan (3) Menu Pull Down. Pada
COMMAND TEXT, ketikkan “line” atau cukup huruf awalnya
saja, yaitu “l” dan tekan tombol enter atau spasi.
Polygon (Persegi Banyak)
Perintah Polygon berfungsi untuk membuat objek-
objek persegi dengan ukuran dan jumlah sudut segi
tertentu, seperti diperlihatkan pada gambar berikut ini
(objek segi enam):
Circle (Lingkaran)
Perintah untuk membuat sebuah lingkaran adalah sebagai berikut:
Pada COMMAD TEXT, perintah ini dijalankan dengan
mengetikkan “C” dan diikuti menekan tombol enter atau
spasi. Pada TOOLBAR, cukup klik icon objek lingkaran
seperti diperlihatkan pada gambar di atas. Sedangkan
pada MENUBAR, klik pada menu DRAW dan CIRCLE.
Text (Tulisan Angka/Huruf)
Langkah-langkah pemberian tulisan dalam dalam pada program
AutoCAD adalah sebagai barikut:
•Single Line Text:  Multiline Text
Objek Garis (LINE)
Perintah untuk menggambarkan objek garis dapat dilakukan
dengan menggunakan 3 (tiga) cara, yaitu: (1) melalui
COMMAND TEXT, (2) Toolbar, dan (3) Menu Pull Down. Pada
COMMAND TEXT, ketikkan “line” atau cukup huruf awalnya
saja, yaitu “l” dan tekan tombol enter atau spasi.
