Jadi sinyal analog merupakan sinyal untuk menampilkan data analog. Sinyal analog berupa
berbagai macam gelombang elektromagnetik yang langsung, terus-menerus dan disebarkan
melalui berbagai media transmisi. Data analog merupakan data yang diimpilkasikan melalui
ukuran
fisik serta memiliki nilai berulang secara terus-menerus dalam beberapainterval. Biasanya data
analog menempati spektrum frekuensi yang terbatas. Contoh data analog adalah suara,
audi dan video. Suara percakapan manusia ditemukan memiliki frekuensi
berkisar antara 100 Hz- kHz dan rentang dinamis sekitar 25 dB.

Transmisi analog adalah suatu upaya mentransmisi sinyal analog tanpa
memperhatikan muatannya. Sinyal-sinyalnya dapat mewakili data analog
atau data digital. Untuk jarak yang jauh dipakai amplifier yang akan
menambahkan kekuatan sinyal sehingga menghasilkan distorsi yang
terbatas.
Beberapa tipe dari transmisi analog:

1. Sinyal analog dipancarkan tanpa melihat isi.

2. Dapat berupa data digital atau analog.
3. Atuneasi setelah menempuh jarak tertentu.
4. Menggunakan amplifier untuk sinyal boost.
