Lambang Daerah Kota Metro Bumi Sai Wawai disahkan berdasarkan

Peraturan Daerah Kota Metro Nomor 1 Tahun 1999 tanggal 8 November 1999
tentang Lambang Daerah.

Lambang Daerah berbentuk Perisai dengan warna dasar biru menggambarkan

tekad dan kesanggupan masyarakat yang majemuk yang mempertahankan
cita-cita Proklamasi Kemerdekaan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia
Tanggal 17 Agustus 1945 berdasarkan Pancasila dalam melaksanakan
pembangunan daerah dalam upaya untuk mewujudkan tujuan Negara
sebagaimana tertuang dalam Pembukaan Undang-Undang dasar 1945.

Makna lambang :
Pada Lambang Daerah, bagian bertuliskan METRO berwarna merah

diatas dasar berwarna putih, menggambarkan Kota Metro bagian dari
Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia.
Garis Tepi yang yang melingkari Lambang Daerah bewarna kuning,

menggambarkan tekad tulus untuk menegakkan serta membina
persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa.
Dalam Lambang Daerah bagian atas terdapat Siger, mencirikan

bahwa masyarakat menjunjung tinggi kebudayaan daerah sebagai
bagian dari kebudayaan bangsa.
Siger bewarna kuning keemasan dengan 9 (sembilan) buah mahkota,

mencirikan bahwa Kota Metro terletak di Lampung.
Diatas siger terdapat Payung Agung, melambangkan pengayoman

bagi warga daerah.
Payung Agung terbagi dalam 4 (empat) bidang besar, 27 (dua puluh

tujuh) bidang kecil dan berumbai dibagian bawah kiri dan kanan
masing-masing 9 (sembilan) untai sebagai tanggal terbentuknya Kota
Metro ( 27 9 1999).
Setangkai padi dan setangkai kapas, melambangkan kemakmuran dan

kesejahteraan rakyat.
9 (sembilan) buah biji kapas, dan 6 (enam) buah cincin pengikat serta
37 (tiga puluh tujuh) butir padi merupakan Hari Jadi Kota Metro ( 9
6 1937).
Nyala api, pena, dan buku di tengah-tengah antara padi dan kapas
menggambarkan semangat warga daerah untuk mengarahkan Metro
menjadi Kota Pendidikan.
Sehelai pita berwarna putih bertuliskan Bumi Sai Wawai dalam

aksara Lampung mengandung makna upaya yang terus menerus
untuk menjadikan daerah sebagai bumi yang bagus atau indah dan
asri.

The shield-shaped emblem area with a blue base color describes the
determination and ability to maintain a pluralistic society Proclamation of
Independence of the Republic of Indonesia On August 17, 1945 based on the
Pancasila in implementing regional development in an effort to realize the goal
of the State as stated in the Preamble to the Act the basic 1945.
At the regional emblem, part reads "METRO" is red on a white base,

Metro City illustrates part of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.
Line that circles the edges of the Regional Emblem colored yellow,
depicting sincere determination to uphold and foster national unity.
In the Regional Coat the top there is Siger, characterizing that society
upholds the culture of the region as part of the nation's culture.
Siger colored golden yellow with a 9 (nine) of fruit the crown,

characterizing that Metro City is located in Lampung.

Above there siger Great Umbrella, symbolizing shelter for local

residents.
Great umbrella is divided into 4 (four) major field, 27 (twenty seven) of

small fields and tufted at the bottom left and right respectively 9 (nine)
strand as the date for the formation of a City Metro (27 - 9 - 1999).
Sprig sprig of paddy and cotton, symbolizing prosperity and welfare.
9 (nine) of fruit seed cotton, and 6 (six) rings binder and 37 (thirty
seven) of grain is the Anniversary of Metro City (9 - 6 - 1937).
Flame, pens, and books in the middle between the rice and cotton
areas illustrate the spirit of the citizens to direct the Metro into
Education City.
A piece of white tape labeled "Earth Sai Wawai" in Lampung script

contains some kind of meaning that continue to attempt to make the
area as good or beautiful earth and beautiful.

Metro sama dengan klimatologi
Propinsi Lampung, yaitu :

Kota Metro terletak di bawah
garis khatulistiwa 5o Lintang
Selatan, beriklim tropis-humid
dengan angin laut yang bertiup
dari Samudera Indonesia dengan
dua arah angin setiap tahunnya,
yaitu:
1. Pada bulan November Maret, angin bertiup dari arah
Barat ke Barat Laut.
2. Pada bulan Juli - Agustus,
angin bertiup dari arah Timur
dan Tenggara.

Pada daerah dataran dengan

Tata cara dan upacara perkawinan

adat pepadun pada umumnya
menurut garis keturunan patrilinial
terlihat dari adanya jujur yakni
berupa pemberian sejumlah uang
dari pihak mempelai laki-laki
kepada pihak mempelai wanita, dan
adanya sesan yakni berupa alatalat rumah tangga komplit sebagai
bawaan mempelai wanita untuk
menuju hidup baru bersama
suaminya. Sesan tersebut akan
diserahkan
pihak
keluarga
mempelai wanita kepada pihak
keluarga mempelai laki-laki pada
saat
upacara
perkawinan
berlangsung
yang
sekaligus
sebagai penyerahan formal (secara
adat)
mempelai
wanita
dari
keluarganya kepada pihak keluarga
mempelai
laki-laki.
Dengan
demikian secara hukum adat maka
putus pula hubungan secara adat
(bukan secara kekeluargaan) antara
mempelai wanita dan keluarganya.
Upacara perkawinan adat pepadun
pelaksanaannya dapat dengan cara
adat Hibal Serba, Bumbang Aji, Ittar
Padang, Ittar Manom (cakak
manuk) dan Sebambangan.

sehari-hari menunjukkan suatu
corak keaslian yang khas dalam
hubungan sosial antar masyarakat

Piil Pesengiri diartikan sebagai
segala sesuatu yang menyangkut
harga diri, perilaku dan sikap yang
menjaga dan menegakkan nama
baik dan martabat secara baik dan

Dalam
hal-hal
tertentu
seseorang
(lampung)
dapat mempertaruhkan apa saja
(termasuk nyawa) demi untuk
mempertahankan piil pesengiri
tersebut. Selain itu, dengan piil
pesengirinya seseorang dapat
berbuat sesuatu atau tidak berbuat
sesuatu meskipun hal itu akan
merugikan dirinya sendiri secara
materi.
Sakai Sambaian mengandung
makna dan pengertian yang luas,
termasuk
diantaranya
tolong
menolong, bahu membahu dan
saling
memberikan
sesuatu

memerlukan. Dalam hal ini tidak

sifatnya materi saja, tetapi dalam

a. Jaman Belanda
Wilayah Kota Metro sekarang pada
waktu jaman pemerintahan Belanda
merupakan Onder Distrik Sukadana
pada tahun 1937 yang termasuk
dalam Marga Nuban. Masingmasing Onder Distrik dikepalai oleh
seorang
asisten
Demang,
sedangkan Distrik dikepalai oleh
seorang Demang. Atasan Distrik
adalah
Onder
afdeling
yang
dikepalai oleh seorang Controleur
berkebangsaan Belanda.
Tugas
dari
asisten
Demang
mengkoordinir Marga yang dikepalai
oleh
Pesirah
dan
didalam
pelaksanaan tugasnya dibantu oleh
seorang Pembarap (wakil Pesirah),
seorang Juru tulis dan seorang
Pesuruh (opas). Pesirah selain
kepala marga juga sebagai Ketua
Dewan Marga. Pesirah dipilih oleh
Penyeimbang-penyeimbang
Kampung dalam marganya masingmasing.

statusnya menjadi Kota Madya Metro.

Daerah terjadi pada tahun 1999,

Undang-Undang Nomor 12 Tahun
1999 tanggal 20 April 1999 dan
diresmikan pada tanggal 27 April 1999
di Jakarta bersama dengan Kota

Metro lebih besar dibandingkan
jumlah penduduk perempuan. Hal ini
bisa dilihat dari Sex Ratio yaitu
sebesar 100,21 yang berarti jumlah
penduduk laki-laki 0,21 % lebih
banyak dibanding jumlah penduduk
perempuan.

sekolah, kelas, guru dan murid dari
Sekolah Dasar (SD) sampai Sekolah
Menengah Umum/ Kejuruan (SMU/K).
Data mahasiswa dan dosen terbatas
pada universitas tertentu.

Kota Metro sudah tergolong baik,
salah satunya bisa dilihat dari
pembangunan jalan baik jalan
negara, jalan provinsi maupun jalan
kabupaten/kota. Sekitar 96,41%
jalanan di Kota Metro sudah diaspal
dan sekitar 49,42% dari total
panjang berkualitas baik .

PDRB merupakan cerminan

dari ukuran produktifivitas seluruh
nilai barang dan jasa yang
dihasilkan oleh suatu wilayah
dalam satu tahun. Sedangkan
PDRB perkapita mencerminkan
tingkat produktivitas tiap penduduk
dalam satu tahun.
GDP is a reflection of the size

of the productivity of the entire
value of goods and services
produced by a region within one
year. While GDP per capita
reflects the level of productivity per
population in one year.

pada
tahun-tahun
sebelumnya
PDRB
dihitung
berdasarkan 9 sektor lapangan
usaha, penghitungan PDRB tahun
ini mengalami perubahan yaitu
meliputi 17 lapangan usaha.
PDRB perkapita masyarakat Kota
Metro atas dasar harga berlaku
mengalami peningkatan dari 23
juta rupiah pada tahun 2013
menjadi 25,671 juta rupiah pada
tahun 2014.

Lambang Daerah Kota Metro Bumi Sai Wawai disahkan berdasarkan

Lambang Daerah berbentuk Perisai dengan warna dasar biru menggambarkan

Pada Lambang Daerah, bagian bertuliskan METRO berwarna merah

Garis Tepi yang yang melingkari Lambang Daerah bewarna kuning,

Dalam Lambang Daerah bagian atas terdapat Siger, mencirikan

Siger bewarna kuning keemasan dengan 9 (sembilan) buah mahkota,

Diatas siger terdapat Payung Agung, melambangkan pengayoman
