 PENGENALAN KOMPUTER 

ELEMEN KOMPUTER
Suatu sistem komputer tidak bisa lepas dari 3 komponen utama yaitu :
A. Hardware (Perangkat Keras)
B. Software (Perangkat Lunak)
C. Brainware

Hardware
Secara garis besar hardware komputer terdiri dari tiga bagian yaitu :
a. CPU (Central Proccessing Unit) berfungsi untuk melaksanakan proses perhitungan dan
mengontrol seluruh jaringan kerja komputer.
b. Storage (Media penyimpanan), berfungsi untuk menyimpan untuk program dan data.
c. Input/output device berfungsi sebagai alat masukan dan alat keluaran.
Yang termasuk input device diantaranya
- Mouse
- Keyboard
- Joystick
- Scaner
- dll
Yangtermasuk output device, diantaranya
- Printer
- Monitor
- Harddisk
- Disket
- CD
- dll
Software
Merupakan sekumpulan instruksi / program yang memungkinkan komputer (hardware) dapat
melaksanakan fungsinya. Software terdiri dari lima unsur, yaitu
a. Sistem Operasi (Operating System)
Merupakan sistem software yang berfungsi untuk mengatur kerja komputer secara mendasar,
seperti mengatur peralatan input output, mengatur memory, menjalankan program komputer
lainnya. Contoh jenis-jenis Sistem Operasi
MS DOS / PC DOS
MS Windows (Populer dan paling banyak digunakan di Indonesia / internasional).

b. Bahasa (Language)
Merupakan sistem software yang berfungsi untuk membuat program -program komputer,
contoh yang termasuk program bahasa diantaranya

Borland Delphi
Javascript, dll
c. Alat Bantu (Utility)
Merupakan unsur dari sistem sofyware yang berfungsi membantu pengoperasian komputer,
untuk melaksanakan perawatan sistem komputer (maintenance), menguji kebenarankerja
komputer, dll. Contoh yang termasuk alat bantu utility, diantaranya :

d. Program Paket (Pakcage Program)
Digunakan dalam penyediaan berbagai fungsi yang siap pakai, contoh :

Spreadsheet (Pengolah angka dan tabel misal Microsoft Excel, Lotus, dll)
Database (Pengolah data dan informasi misal Microsoft Accses, Dbase, dll)

Keterangan
Title Bar : Merupakan judul/nama program yang sedang dibuka (dalam hal ini windows
explorer).
Menu Bar : Baris menu untuk mengoperasikan dan mengelola file / folder.
Address Bar : Menunjukan lokasi folder yang sedang dibuka.
Folder windows kiri : Berisi folder dan shortcut serta dalam satu komputer
Folder windows kanan : Berisi file atau folder dari folder yang aktif/terbuka (pada folder sebelah kiri).
Status bar : Berisi informasi tentang folder atau file yang aktif / terbuka (diklik).
Horizontal Scroll Bar : Tombol untuk menggulung layar secara horizontal
Vertical Scroll Bar : Tombol untuk menggulung layar secara vertikal

B. File dan Folder

Folder merupakan tempat untuk menyimpan folder dan file, sehingga dapat
diibaratkan sebagi sebuah map yang didalamnya terdapat lagi map dan surat-
Lambang Folder surat, jadi didalam folder bisa terdapat folder lagi dan juga terdapat file lagi
(folder berfolder). Folder dilambangkan dengan map gambar map
Sedangkan lambang selain itu adalah yang disebut file. Kalau diibararatkan dalam
Lambang Folder kehidupan
yang sedang
sehari hari file adalah selembar/beberapa surat/dokumen, dan foder adalah tempat
aktif / terbuka
menyimpan surat/dokumentersebut.

C. Satuan Ukuran File

Ukuran file didalam komputer dinyatakan dalam satuan byte.
1 byte = 1 karakter
1 karakter = 1 huruf (a, b, c, d, dst) ; 1 angka (0,1, … ,9) ; tanda baca (. , : / < > , dll
termasuk spasi)
1024 byte = 1 KB (Kilobyte) / (dibulatkan 1000 byte)
1000 KB = 1 MB (Megabyte)
1000 MB = 1 GB (Gigabyte)
1000 GB = 1 TB (Terabyte)

Untuk kapasitas disket adalah 1,44 MB atau sama dengan 1.440 KB.
Untuk kapasitas Hardisk masa sekarang pada umumnya adalah jatuh pada ukuran Gigabyte.

D. Direktori dan SubDirektori

Direktori dan sub direktori adalah istilah lain folder, namun direktori dan sub direktori lebih
mengarah pada tingkatan (hirarki), root direktori merupakan folder paling tinggi tingkatannya,
direktori yang ada didalam root direktori disebut subdirektori level 1, direktori yang ada di
subdirektori level 1 disebut disebut subdirektori level 2, dst (perhatikan gambar dibawah).

F. Cara Membaca Address Bar

Addres bar berfungsi untuk :
- Mengetahui folder mana yang sedang kita buka.
- Mengetahui dimana file kita berada apakah di Disket (A:) atau di Hardisk (C:)
atau di CD ROM (E: , F:, G: dst)
Perhatikan gambar dibawah

Dari gambar diatas dapat kita presentasikan sebagai berikut :

Folder images berada didalam folder oyas_web
Folder oyas_web berada di folder My Webs
Folder My Webs berada di folder My Documents
Dan My Documents berada di Drive (C:) berarti di Hardisk.

G. Aturan Penamaan File atau Folder

 Minimal satu karakter
 Maksimal 256 karakter
 Tidak boleh menggunakan karakter \ / : “ * ? < > |

H. Membuat Folder
 Cara 1
Pilih File  pilih New  pilih Folder
Ketik nama folder yang kita inginkan
Jika telah selesai tekan tombol enter atau klik di sembarang tempat

Klik area windows sebelah kanan dengan tombol mouse sebelah kanan
Pilih New  pilih Folder

I. Mengubah nama folder atau file (Rename)

 Cara 1
Pilih folder atau file yang akan diubah namanya
Klik sekali lagi
Ketik nama yang baru
Jika telah selesai tekan tombol enter atau klik di sembarang tempat

 Cara 2
Pilih folder atau file yang akan diubah namanya
Tekan tombol F2
Ketik nama yang baru
Jika telah selesai tekan tombol enter atau klik di sembarang tempat

 Cara 3
Pilih folder atau file yang akan diubah namanya
Tekan menu File
Pilih Rename
Ketik nama yang baru
Jika telah selesai tekan tombol enter atau klik di sembarang tempat

 Cara 4
Pilih folder atau file yang akan diubah namanya, dengan cara meng-klik dengan tombol
mouse sebelah kanan
Pilih Rename
Ketik nama yang baru
Jika telah selesai tekan tombol enter atau klik di sembarang tempat

J. Menghapus File
 Cara 1
Pilih file atau folder yang akan dihapus
Tekan tombol Delete
Pilih “Yes” jika yakin akan menghapus dan pilih “No” jika tidak akan dihapus

 Cara 2
Pilih file atau folder yang akan dihapus
Klik tombol kanan Mouse
Pilih Delete
Pilih “Yes” jika yakin akan menghapus dan pilih “No” jika tidak akan dihapus

 Cara 3
Pilih file atau folder yang akan dihapus
Klik tombol kanan Mouse
Pilih Menu File
Pilih Delete
Pilih “Yes” jika yakin akan menghapus dan pilih “No” jika tidak akan dihapus

K. Membatalkan penghapusan file atau folder.

Jika kita tidak sengaja menghapus file atau folder, atau folder/file yang telah dihapus tersebut
diperlukan lagi, kita dapat memanggilnya lagi, dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut :

Klik Recycled Bin di Windows sebelah kiri (normalnya gambar tong sampah warna hijau)
Cari dan pilih file / folder yang akan dikembalikan
Klik dengan tombol mouse kanan kanan file atau folder tersebut
Pilih Restore untuk mengembalikan ke folder tempat file/folder tersebut berada

 Cara 2
Klik Recycled Bin di Windows sebelah kiri (normalnya gambar tong sampah warna hijau)
Cari dan pilih file / folder yang akan dikembalikan
Pilih menu File
Pilih Restore untuk mengembalikan ke folder tempat file/folder tersebut berada

L. Mengatur Tampilan Windows Explorer

 Menghilangkan / menimbulkan folder windows sebalah kiri
Pilih Menu View
Pilih Explorer Bar
Pilih Folder, sehingga timbul tanda ceklist pada pilihan yang kita maksud
(lihat gambar apa yang beda ?)
