Practicum is a teaching practice component in teacher education
programme. It aims to provide student teachers the opportunity to
observe and evaluate teaching-learning practices. It also enables
student teachers to plan lessons and apply the theories that they
have learnt in the institute through guidance and collaboration with
cooperating teachers, lecturers and peers in a variety of situations.
Practicum 1 provides opportunity to student teachers to practise
knowledge, skills and teacher values in a guided and real life
situation. Student teachers are required to co-operate with the
subject teachers in lesson planning, preparing teaching aids and
classroom management. Student teachers are also expected to
carry out lessons together with the class teacher.

wajib dijalankan dalam tempoh 2 minggu pertama praktikum. Penilaian
dilakukan secara penyeliaan bersama oleh guru pembimbing dan
pensyarah pembimbing pada penghujung praktikum berdasarkan pada
aspek-aspek di atas dengan merujuk pada :
- Persediaan mengajar
- Portfolio
- Borang bimbingan
- Pencapaian hasil pembelajaran
- Kesesuaian sumber/bahan/isi/masa/aktiviti/strategi
- Penggunaan kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi
