Nuclear power generation
CRIEP! provides technical supports to the
Utilities’ efforts for restarting the nuclear power
plants.
In addition, to assist utilities to voluntarily and
continually improve safety after the restart,
CRIEP! develops probabilistic risk assessment
(PRA) methodology for various events.
Further, we promote the research such as the
improvement of the maintenance techniques for
safe and stable operation of light water reactors.

Thermal power generation
CRIEPI develops technology related to facility diagnosis and maintenance applicable
to operational management of existing thermal power plants.
Moreover, we conduct research aimed at the early introduction of next-generation
thermal power technologies, results in both improving efficiency of coal fired power
generation and mitigating environmental load.
Further, we also develop diversification technologies of fuel types for thermal power
generation
Bending & iteral pressure on real structural samples Coal combustion test facity,
CRIEPI carries out research to enhance the function of the electric power system
analysis tools and develop the techniques for maintaining supply reliability of power
system, to correspond with widening system operation and high integration of
renewable energy sources under Japanese Electricity System Reform
Further, we promote the development of condition monitoring and diagnosis
technology for aging electric power transmission and distribution facilities.
