ABSTRACT
This study aims to improve the process and results of learning writing cursive
handwriting skills using the method of guided writing in class 2A SD N Sampangan
for academic year 2017/2018.
The type of research which used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) model
of Kemmis & Mc Taggart. This research was conducted collaboration with the
teacher. Subject this research is students of class 2A of SD N Sampangan which
consisted of 31 students. The object of this study is the process and result of learning
writing cursive handwriting skills. This research was conducted in three cycles.
Data collection techniques used are observation and test performance. The
research instruments used are field notes, observation sheet rating scale and
performance test of writing cursive handwriting. The technique of data analysis
technique used is descriptive data analysis and qualitative data analysis techniques
quantitative descriptive.
Use of the method of guided writing in the process of learning writing cursive
handwriting can improve the writing cursive handwriting skills students-class 2A
SD N Sampangan. The improvement in the process can be seen in the enthusiastic
students in following the learning from cycle to cycle. In addition, the process
improvement can also be seen on the media that used by teacher in learning. The
impact of the process is increasing the writing cursive handwriting skills cursive
handwriting students-class 2A SD N Sampangan. This is evidenced by the average
score of pretest was 55,95 than in cycle III increased to 81,72. Based on these
results it can be concluded that the method of guided writing can improve the
writing cursive handwriting skills students-class 2A SD N Sampangan.
