The impact of the workload of the nurse to the patient
1. The nurse becomes task oriented
Nurses rarely make contact with patients and tend to be task oriented. 2. Nurses experience dissatisfaction and burnout. The nurse is not satisfied with her work, thereby affecting her motivation to provide quality services. Example: the desire to change careers. 3. Nurses experience physical and psychological problems. Pain, fatigue, stress, nurses become more emotional easily angry. This can happen because the nurses have so many tasks that nurses do not have special attention about themselves. 4. Effects on patient safety. Nurses who have a higher workload are reported more often to make medical errors, for example: there are elderly patients who want to go to the toilet, we help to go to the toilet, because we fatigue could just be patient and we fall. This has been very detrimental to the patient. 5. Nurses do not provide services that meet the standards. Nurses do not have enough time to carry out their duties safely, monitor patients, may also lack communication with other health teams. 6. Documentation of nursing care is not optimal. This is because there is not enough time and after taking nursing action to the patient the nurse feels tired so that the spirit of writing detailed and complete nursing care is low.
