ABSTRAK
Turmeric extracts for medicinal plants that had the bioaditif compound, curcumin
and essential oils. Palm sugar is sucrose and glucose-containing energy sources.
This study aims to determine the weight gain and consumption of broiler
chickens fed extracts of turmeric and palm sugar in water. The experimental
design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 x 2
factorial design with 2 replications, each replication consisted of 8 broiler
chickens. The data obtained will in Variety Fingerprint Analysis (ANOVA), if
there is a real difference will be in the LSD. The parameters observed in this
study is the growth of body weight and feed consumption of broiler chickens.
The results showed that turmeric extract and palm sugar in drinking water
showed highly significant (p <0.01) on the growth of body weight of broiler
chickens. This interaction occurs due in turmeric extract and palm sugar and
glucose kurkuminoid are substances that can increase metabolic rate and
increased appetite, so it is more efficient feed utilization that cause digestion and
absorption of nutrients more smoothly, thereby causing the emptiness in the
stomach which will affect feed intake and can increase the growth of chicken
body weight increases.
