ABSTRACT
Many problems arise when a person suffers from a particular disease but do not have
the motivation to recover against itself. This bottleneck occurs because of lack of
support from the patient's environment. Therapeutic communication skills nurses can
provide support and encouragement as well as the information becomes a positive
outlet for patients to receive state is experienced and able to make changes that can
improve the health of patients.
The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of therapeutic
communication nurse with motivation to recover inpatients in hospitals Orchid room
Sumedang. This research is a quantitative research. The subject of this study are in-
patients at hospitals Orchid room Sumedang many as 68 respondents, by way of
accidential sampling.
The data collection is done by using questionnaires filled out by respondents and
observation sheet. Analysis of data through two phases, namely univariate to see the
frequency distribution and bivariate to see the relationship (chi square).
Statistical test results addressed that there is a significant relationship is communication
therapeutic nurse of authenticity aspects of nurses to recover motivation in patients
with grades (P-Value 0.008 <0.05). Empathy nurse to recover motivation in patients with
grades (P-Value 0.025 <0.05). Respect / reverence nurses to recover motivation in
patients with grades (P-Value 0.005 <0.05). And concrete motivation of nurses to heal in
patients with grades (P-Value 0.017 <0.05).
Nurses are advised to maintain therapeutic communication that has been established,
therapeutic communication both verbal and non-verbal it creates a relationship that
really therapeutic between nurses and patients so as to create openness that can
motivate the patient to be cured of his illness .
