"CHANGED OR DIE?"

Era pendidikan yang dipengaruhi oleh revolusi industri 4.0 disebut Pendidikan 4.0.
Pendidikan 4.0 merupakan pendidikan yang bercirikan pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam
proses pembelajaran atau dikenal dengan sistem siber (cyber system). Sistem ini mampu
membuat proses pembelajaran dapat berlangsung secara kontinu tanpa batas ruang dan batas
waktu. Sehingga bidang pendidikan dituntut untuk berubah dari jenjang pendidikan dasar
sampai menengah.

Mengingat tantangan yang besar tersebut, menurut saya guru harus terus meningkatkan
kompetensi sehingga mampu menghadapi peserta didik generasi milenial. Era pendidikan 4.0
merupakan tantangan yang sangat berat dihadapi guru. Jika tidak mengubah cara mendidik
dan belajar-mengajar, maka 30 tahun mendatang kita akan mengalami kesulitan besar.
Pendidikan dan pembelajaran yang sarat dengan muatan pengetahuan mengesampingkan
muatan sikap dan keterampilan sebagaimana saat ini terimplementasi akan menghasilkan
peserta didik yang tidak mampu berkompetisi dengan mesin.

Guru 4.0 memiliki tanggung jawab yang lebih besar dalam mendidik peserta didik
menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0. Guru merupakan guru yang mampu menguasai dan
memanfaatkan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran. Butuh kompetensi Revolusi industri 4.0
ditandai oleh hadirnya empat hal, yaitu komputer super, kecerdasan buatan (artificial
intelligency), sistem siber (cyber system), dan kolaborasi manufaktur. Dengan demikian
dibutuhkan kompetensi yang mampu mengimbangi kehadiran keempat hal itu dalam era
Pendidikan . Kompetensi yang dibutuhkan tersebut merupakan salah satu proyeksi kebutuhan
kompetensi abad 21.

Kompetensi yang dibutuhkan dalam era Pendidikan 4.0 adalah: Pertama, keterampilan
berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah (critical thinking and problem solving skill). Kedua,
keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaboratif (communication and collaborative skill). Ketiga,
keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan inovasi (creativity and innovative skill). Keempat, literasi
teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (information and communication technology literacy).

Konstruk kurikulum yang telah ada menjadi fokus pertama dalam penyelesaian yang
digagas pemerintah dalam bidang pendidikan. Kebijakan Kurikulum 2013 telah
memggabungkan kemampuan siswa pada dimensi pedagogik, kecakapan hidup, kemampuan
hidup bersama (kolaborasi), dan berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Namun implementasi kurikulum
di lapangan mengalami perbedaan konteks dan tidak lagi berorientasi pada pencapaian
kemampuan siswa tersebut

Keseimbangan pemahaman antara konsep pengetahuan dan keterampilan adalah hal

yang penting, tetapi belum cukup bagi siswa untuk dapat memahami cepatnya perubahan
lingkungan. Survival of the fittest sepertinya akan berlaku di era generasi keempat ini. Hanya
mereka yang adaptiflah, yang akan survive terhadap gempuran Revolusi Industri 4.0 ini.

Sebuah ‘pekerjaan rumah’ yang menguji daya tahan dan daya dobrak yang meliputi
perubahan dari sisi budaya, sistem, dan sumber daya. Oleh sebab itu, sudah selayaknya hal itu
dipersiapkan dengan sungguh-sungguh, bukan dibiarkan berlalu dengan sendirinya.
Pemerintah hendaknya memikirkan kembali secara serius bersama dengan para pegiat
pendidikan di Indonesia mengenai berbagai hal terkait dengan budaya, sistem, dan sumber
daya pendidikan dalam menyongsong gempuran Revolusi Industri 4.0. Tidak ada perubahan
yang berlalu begitu saja, perubahan sudah selayaknya dipersiapkan dengan matang dan teliti.
Seperti kata pepatah, “berubah atau mati”.

The era of education which was influenced by the industrial revolution 4.0 is called
Education 4.0. Education 4.0 is an education characterized by the use of digital technology in
the learning process or known as the cyber system. This system is able to make the learning
process can take place continuously without space and time limits. So that the field of
education is required to change from the level of primary to secondary education.

In view of the great challenges, in my opinion the teacher must continue to improve
competence so that they are able to face millennial generation students. The era of education
4.0 is a very difficult challenge for teachers. If we don't change the way we educate and
teach, then the next 30 years we will experience great difficulties. Education and learning
loaded with knowledge overrides the content of attitudes and skills as currently being
implemented will result in students who are unable to compete with machines.

Teacher 4.0 has a greater responsibility in educating students to face the Industrial
Revolution 4.0. The teacher is a teacher who is able to master and utilize digital technology in
learning. It took competence for the Industrial Revolution 4.0 to be marked by the presence
of four things, namely super computers, artificial intelligence, cyber systems, and
manufacturing collaborations. Thus competencies are needed that are able to compensate for
the presence of these four things in the era of Education. The competency needed is one of
the projected 21st century competency needs.

The competencies needed in the Education 4.0 era are: First, critical thinking skills and
problem solving. Second, communication and collaborative skills. Third, creative thinking
and innovation skills. Fourth, information and communication technology literacy.

The existing curriculum construction is the first focus in the settlement initiated by the
government in the field of education. The 2013 Curriculum Policy combines the abilities of
students in the pedagogical dimensions, life skills, the ability to live together (collaboration),
and think critically and creatively. However, the implementation of the curriculum in the
field experiences different contexts and is no longer oriented towards achieving the abilities
of these students
 The balance of understanding between the concepts of knowledge and skills is
important, but it is not enough for students to be able to understand the rapid changes in the
environment. Survival of the fittest seems to be valid in this era of the fourth generation. Only
those who are adaptive will survive this onslaught of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

A homework ’that tests endurance and breakthrough which includes changes in terms
of culture, systems and resources. Therefore, it should be prepared in earnest, not let go by
itself. The government should seriously rethink together with education activists in Indonesia
about various matters relating to culture, systems and educational resources in facing the
onslaught of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. There are no changes that just pass, the changes
should be prepared carefully and thoroughly. As the saying goes, "change or die".
