Penelitian ini didasarkan pada beberapa pemasalahan yaitu: Pertama, siswa

belum terampil dalam menuliskan pemikiran-pemikiran ke dalam sebuah teks.

Kedua, guru masih mengunakan model pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang

mendukung keterampilan menulis siswa, seperti penggunaan metode ceramah dan

penugasan, sehingga siswa menjadi bosan dalam belajar, dan tidak termotivasi untuk

mengikuti pembelajaran menulis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan

penerapan metode kooperatif tipe concept sentence dalam menulis teks eksposisi

siswa kelas VIII B SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020. Teori

yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori belajar perkembangan Kognitif-Jean

Piaget. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. penerapan

metode kooperatif tipe concept sentence sanggat baik dengan persentase 86.36%

dengan siswa yang tuntas berjumlah 19 orang. Sedangkan persentase siswa yang tidak

tuntas adalah 13.63% dengan siswa yang tidak tuntas berjumlah 3 orang.

Kata Kunci : Metode kooperatif, tipe concept sentence, teks ekposisi.

This research is based on several problems, namely: First, students are not yet

skilled in writing thoughts into a text. Second, teachers still use conventional learning

models that do not support students' writing skills, such as the use of lecture and

assignment methods, so that students become bored in learning, and are not motivated

to take writing lessons. This study aims to describe the application of the cooperative

method of the concept sentence type in writing exposition text for class VIII B

students of SMP Muhammadiyah Kupang in the 2019/2020 academic year. The

theory used in this research is Jean Piaget's theory of cognitive development. The

method used is a qualitative research method. the application of the cooperative

method type concept sentence was very good with a percentage of 86.36% with 19

students who completed. While the percentage of students who did not complete was

13.63% with 3 students who did not complete.
