Abstract. All articles must contain an abstract. The abstract text should be formatted using 10

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (i) Untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman siswa-siswa
Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) pada konsep sel (ii) Untuk mengidentifikasi pada kompetensi
dasar (KD) mana dari konsep sel siswa mengalami miskonsepsi. Penelitian ini termasuk
penelitian deskriptif. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi yang terjadi
pada siswa adalah Certainty of Response Index (CRI). Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah
siswa-siswa yang berasal dari 7 SMA di kota Makassar. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes
diagnostik berbentuk pilihan ganda beralasan yang dilengkapi dengan nilai CRI dan
wawancara terstruktur untuk mengetahui penyebab miskonsepsi. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswa SMA di kota Makassar mengalami miskonsepsi pada 6
Kompetensi Dasar (KD) tentang konsep Sel yang diteliti dengan kecenderungan siswa lebih
banyak mengalami miskonsepsi pada KD 3.1 Mendeskripsikan komponen kimiawi sel,
struktur, dan fungsi sel sebagai unit terkecil kehidupan, mengidentifikasi organel sel melalui
pengamatan dan KD 3.2 Membandingkan mekanisme transpor pada membran (difusi,
osmosis, transpor aktif, endositosis, dan eksositosis) dari hasil pengamatan.

Abstract. This study aims (i) to determine the level of understanding of high school students
on the concept of cells (ii) to identify which basic competencies (BC) of the concept of cell students
who experience misconceptions. This research is descriptive research. The method used to identify
misconceptions that occur in students is the Certainty of Response Index (CRI). The sample in this
study were students from 7 senior high schools in the city of Makassar. The instrument used in the
form of a reasoned multiple choice diagnostic test equipped with CRI values and structured interviews
to determine the causes of misconceptions. The results showed that high school students in the city of
Makassar experienced misconceptions on the 6 Basic Competencies (BC) about the concept of cells
which were studied with the tendency of students to experience more misconceptions in BC 3.1 to
describe the chemical components of cells, structures, and functions of cells as the smallest units of
life. identify cell organelles through observation and BC 3.2 to compare transport mechanisms in
membranes (diffusion, osmosis, active transport, endocytosis, and exocytosis) from observations.
