Mark Elliot Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is an American computer
programmer and entrepreneur. He is best known as one of five co-founders
of the social networking website Facebook. Zuckerberg is the chairman and
chief executive of Facebook, Inc. His personal wealth, as of July 2015, is
estimated to be $38.6 billion. Zuckerberg receives a one dollar salary as
CEO of Facebook.
Together with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students
Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes,
he launched Facebook from Harvard University’s dormitory rooms. The
group then introduced Facebook onto other campuses nationwide and
moved to Palo Alto, California shortly afterwards. In 2007, at the age of 23,
Zuckerberg became a billionaire as a result of Facebook’s success. The
number of Facebook users worldwide reached a total of one billion in 2012.
Zuckerberg was involved in various legal disputes that were initiated by

involvement during the development phase of Facebook.

The Republic of Indonesia was a young country recently freed from colonialism when Tan Joe
Hok swept the most prestigious crowns in badminton, including the All England championship in
1959.
Born in Bandung, Tan moved around West Java with his family during the tough times of the late
1930s and early 1940s. Eventually returning to settle in the province’s capital. As a child, he would
watch his mother play badminton in the yard. As an up and coming player in his hometown in
Bandung, he would wake up early every morning, bike to running track and after his work out, make it
back to school before the doors closed. He was one of the most talented players. There were others
with more technically beautiful strokes, and more flair. However, he would size them up before they
met at the court to see how he could overcome them with his fitness and guile.
From the young stand out in his neighborhood, he became champion of Bandung by the age of 15.
At 17, he won a famous victory over top player Nyoo Kiem Bie in Surabaya. Two years later, Tan took
the Indonesian open singles and men’s doubles titles in his hometown. He nursed ambition to conquer
foreign shores. In 1956, his dream came true with a trip to Singapore. He won the tournament, but the
experience also provided the sobering realization that he couldn’t earn a living from the sport.
