Pada umumnya, terdapat dua jenis kalimat berdasarkan jenisnya, yaitu

kalimat aktif (Active Voice) dan kalimat pasif (Passive Voice). Dalam bahasa
Inggris, terdapat sedikit perbedaan antara kedua jenis kalimat tersebut,
terutama ketika kalimat aktif diubah menjadi kalimat pasif. Salah satu cara
untuk mendalami materi Active & Passive Voice ini adalah dengan berlatih
soal. Berikut adalah contoh soal tentang Active & Passive Voice

A. ACTIVE VOICE
- Pengertian Active Voice (Kalimat Aktif)
 Yaitu kalimat yang subject-nya berbuat sesuatu atau melakukan suatu pekerjaan.
Dalam bahasa indonesia ciri-ciri kalimat aktif adalah kata kerjanya selalu berawalan
“me-“ dan beberapa lagi memiliki awalan “ber-“. Pada kalimat aktif (active voice)
ini, kita cukup menggunakan bentuk dasar dari kata kerja (verbs) dalam penyusunan
kalimatnya.

- Rumus Active :
S + V1 + O
- Contoh :

Apa Saja Ciri-ciri Kalimat Aktif? 

Berikut ini ciri-ciri active voice:

 Kalimat active voice cenderung memiliki nada yang tegas dan jelas

 Kalimat aktif ditandai dengan subjek yang berada di awal
 Subjek diikuti oleh bentuk 'to be', verb, dan objek
 Dapat menceritakan dengan jelas tentang subjek yang telah melakukan suatu hal

B. Passive Voice (Kalimat Pasif)

  
- Yaitu kalimat yang subject-nya dikenai suatu pekerjaan atau menderita suatu.
Dengan kata lain subject kalimat tersebut menjadi sasaran kegiatan yang dinyatakan
oleh kata kerja. Dalam bahasa indonesia ciri-ciri kalimat pasif adalah kata kerjanya
yang berawalan dengan “di-“ dan beberapa lagi memiliki awalan “ter-“ .
- Rumus Passive :
S + Tobe + V3 + by + O
- Contoh :
A magazine is bought by Barli.

Apa Ciri-ciri Passive Voice?

Ini dia karakter atau ciri-ciri kalimat pasif:

  Ketika kita mengubah kalimat dari kalimat aktif menjadi pasif, objek menjadi
subjek.
 Tidak menceritakan dengan jelas tentang 'aktor' yang telah melakukan sebuah
tindakan.
 Kita harus menambahkan 'by' pada akhir kalimat jika ingin memperjelas siapa
yang melakukan sebuah tindakan.

c. Simple Present Perfect Tense :

Rumus Passive : S+have/has+been+V3+by+O

Rumus Active Voice
Jika dipadankan dalam bahasa Indonesia, active voice menggunakan
kata kerja yang berimbuhan me- atau ber-.

Maka dari itu rumus dari kalimat active voice adalah: Subject (doer of

the action) + verb (+ direct object/receiver of the action). 

Pada rumus ini, direct object dapat berupa noun, pronoun, atau noun

substitute dan ditambahkan hanya jika verb berupa transitive
verb. Contoh:

 She drinks coffee every morning (Dia minum kopi tiap pagi).

 The waiter is serving the last customer (Pelayan sedang
melayani pelanggan terakhir).
