ABSTRAK
Kurikulum di Indonesia mengalami beberapa kali perubahan hampir sejalan dengan
pergantian kebijakan kepemimpinan. Sejak pemberlakukan kurikulum MBKM (Merdeka
Belajar Kampus Merdeka) pada tahun 2019 yang digagas oleh Mendikbud Nadiem Makarim,
maka nyaris kurikulum yang selama ini digunakan yakni kurikulum 2013 hanya sebagai
alternatif karena dianggap kurang menjawab problematika kekinian dan solusi berbagai
persoalan. Diantara alasan utama kemunculan kurikulum MBKM adalah kesenjangan besar
antarwilayah dan antarkelompok sosial- ekonomi dalam hal kualitas belajar bahkan
diperparah dengan adanya pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mendapatkan deskripsi tentang Penelitian ini, bertujuan mendapatkan deskripsi tentang
konsep kurikulum MBKM dan implementasi diperguruan tinggai. Penelitian ini
menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui pendekatan riset kepustakaan (library
research). Sumber utama penelitian ini adalah hasil penelitian yang pernah dilakukan
peneliti terdahulu yang banyak tertuang dalam buku dan jurnal. Data yang diangkat dari
kepustakaan tadi secara kualitatif dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik konten analisis.
Akhirnya, sebagai hasilnya disimpulkan dan diurai kembali secara deskriptif-analitik dan
dituangkan secara naratif dalam artikel ini. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles
& Huberman meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan
kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kurikulum MBKM yang merupakan
kurikulum terbaru di Indonesia, lebih menekankan proses kegiatan pembelajaran diluar dan
didalam kampus. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari pematangan delapan kegiatan pembelajaran
yaitu pertukaran pelajar, magang/praktik kerja, asistensi mengajar di satuan pendidikan,
penelitian/riset, proyek kemanusiaan, kegiatan kewirausahaan, studi/proyek independen, dan
membangun desa/kuliah kerja nyata tematik yang merupakan inti dari perubahan
kurikulum. Dari sisi penilaian, MBKM memfokuskan penilaian karakteristik untuk
menanamkan nilai pancasila dan bhineka tunggal ika yang merupakan ciri khas kebangsaan
Indonesia. Tidak hanya itu, instrumen penilaian pun ada yang dikembangkan bahkan di
ubah untuk memperbaiki mutu pendidikan dan output lulusan yang sesuai dengan dunia
industri, dunia usaha, persiapan karir di masa mendatang sesuai dengan perkembangan
zaman.

ABSTRACT
The curriculum in Indonesia has undergone several changes almost in line with the change of
leadership policies. Since the implementation of the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus
Merdeka) curriculum in 2019 initiated by Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem
Makarim, almost the curriculum that has been used, namely the 2013 curriculum, is only an
alternative because it is considered insufficient to answer current problems and solutions to
various problems. Among the main reasons for the emergence of the MBKM curriculum is
the large gap between regions and between socio-economic groups in terms of learning
quality and even exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to get a
description of this research, aims to get a description of the concept of the MBKM curriculum
and implementation in higher education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative
approach through a library research approach. The main source of this research is the results
of research that has been done by previous researchers which are widely contained in books
and journals. The data raised from the literature was qualitatively analyzed using content
analysis techniques. Finally, as a result it is descriptive-analytically deduced and reparsed
and narratively set forth in this article. Data analysis techniques using the Miles &
Huberman model include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions.
The results showed that the MBKM Curriculum, which is the latest curriculum in
Indonesia, emphasizes the process of learning activities outside and inside the campus. This
can be seen from the maturation of eight learning activities, namely student exchanges,
internships/work practices, teaching assistance in educational units, research/research,
humanitarian projects, entrepreneurial activities, independent studies/projects, and building
villages/thematic real work lectures which are the core of curriculum change. In terms of
assessment, MBKM focuses on assessing characteristics to instill the values of pancasila and
unity in diversity, which are characteristic of Indonesian nationality. Not only that, there are
also assessment instruments that are developed and even changed to improve the quality of
education and graduate output in accordance with the industrial world, the business world,
career preparation in the future in accordance with the times.
