Fulbright Master's Degree Program


Program beasiswa Fulbright ini diberikan kepada mereka yang ingin melanjutkan
studi S-2 (Master) di Amerika Serikat. Diutamakan kepada pendaftar yang bekerja
sebagai staf fakultas di insitusi perguruan tinggi baik negeri maupun swasta.

2. Australian Award Scholarship (AAS)


Australian Award Scholarship (AAS) adalah program beasiswa yang dibiayai oleh
pemerintah Australia melalui AusAID untuk program studi S-2 di universitas-
universitas Australia. Tujuan utama dari beasiswa ADS adalah untuk bekerja sama
dengan pemerintah Republik Indonesia menuju Indonesia yang makmur,
demokratis, dan aman melalui penyediaan beasiswa S-2. Sejak periode 2012-2013,
proses aplikasi Australian Award Scholarships (ADS) dan Australian Leadership
Award Scholarships (ALAS) telah digabung. Pelamar AAS dapat memperoleh
tambahan program Leadership Award sebagai bagian dari beasiswa ADS, dengan
mengidentifikasikan keinginan untuk mendapatkan tambahan tersebut pada saat
mendaftar. Jumlah beasiswa yang sama diberikan untuk wanita dan pria. Sebagai
contoh, untuk periode 2012-2013, 85% diberikan untuk level Master. Setiap
periodenya ketentuan ini dapat berubah.

3. ERASMUS +
Erasmus+ adalah program baru dengan dana dari Uni Eropa sebesar €16 milyar
untuk membiayai program pendidikan, pelatihan, pemuda dan olah raga.
Program ini dibentuk berdasarkan atas keberhasilan program Uni Eropa di
bidang program pertukaran pelajar Erasmus.
Erasmus+ menggabungkan 7 program yang didanai Uni Eropa yaitu: Tempus,
Leonardo, Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, Alfa, Comenius dan Edulink. Aplikasi
program S-2 Erasmus+ mulai tahun akademik 2017 akan dibuka sekitar bulan
Oktober 2016.
Resmi diluncurkan pada Mei 2015, SHARE adalah program hibah dari Uni Eropa
sebesar €10 juta yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat kerjasama regional,
meningkatkan kualitas, daya saing dan internasionalisasi institusi pendidikan
tinggi dan mahasiswa di ASEAN serta memberikan kontribusi. untuk Komunitas
ASEAN. Dari tahun 2016 dan seterusnya, SHARE akan menyediakan 500
beasiswa bagi mahasiswa di ASEAN untuk menguji sistem pertukaran
mahasiswa dan pengakuan kredit perkuliahan di kawasan ASEAN. ASEAN
bekerja sama dengan konsorsium yang dipimpin oleh British Council dan terdiri
dari DAAD, EP-Nuffic, Campus France, ENQA dan EUA untuk melaksanakan
program SHARE ini dari tahun 2015 hingga 2018.

4. Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP)


Program Beasiswa Magister dan Doktor LPDP adalah program beasiswa yang
dibiayai oleh pemerintah Indonesia melalui pemanfaatan Dana Pengembangan
Pendidikan Nasional (DPPN) yang dikelola LPDP, Kementerian Keuangan RI
untuk studi program Magister dan Doktor.
Pendaftaran dan Proses Seleksi
1. Metode Pendaftaran
Pendaftaran Program Beasiswa Magister dan Doktor LPDP dilaksanakan
secara online dengan mengisi formulir pendaftaran pada laman:
www.lpdp.depkeu.go.id dan mengunggah kelengkapan dokumen-dokumen
pendukung yang relevan.
2. Tahapan Seleksi Beasiswa
a. Proses Pendaftaran
1) Pelamar mengisi formulir pendaftaran secara online
2) pada laman LPDP (www.lpdp.depkeu.go.id);

3) Pelamar melengkapi semua persyaratan;


4) Dokumen asli dibawa pada saat wawancara bagi yang lolos pada tahap
seleksi dokumen;
b. Proses Pemeriksaan Kelengkapan Dokumen dan Persyaratan
1) LPDP memeriksa dan melakukan validasi kelengkapan berkas
pendaftaran berdasarkan daftar periksa (checklist) dan kecocokan
persyaratan;
2) Dokumen yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan tidak diproses ke tahap
selanjutnya, pelamar diberitahu hasilnya melalui akun pendaftaran
online pelamar beasiswa;
3) Dokumen yang memenuhi persyaratan diajukan ke tahap selanjutnya,
pelamar yang lolos diberitahu melalui akun pendaftaran online
pelamar beasiswa;
c. Proses Penilaian Dokumen
1) Tim Reviewer memberikan bobot untuk setiap pelamar berdasarkan
dokumen-dokumen yang diberikan oleh pelamar;
2) Hasil penilaian tim Reviewer diperingkat dan dilaporkan kepada
Direktur Utama LPDP melalui Direktur Dana Kegiatan Pendidikan untuk
ditetapkan peserta yang lolos ke tahap wawancara.
d. Proses Wawancara
1) Peserta mengikuti tes wawancara melalui tatap muka atau
teleconference ( untuk pendaftar beasiswa yang berada di luar negeri)
2) Hasil penilaian diperingkat dan dilaporkan kepada Direktur Utama
LPDP melalui Direktur Dana Kegiatan Pendidikan.
e. Penetapan Kelulusan
Hasil penetapan seleksi disampaikan kepada peserta melalui akun
pendaftaran online pelamar beasiswa.

5. STUNED BELANDA
StuNed, Studeren in Nederland, atau studi di Belanda, adalah program beasiswa
yang bertujuan membantu pembangunan Indonesia melalui peningkatan
kualitas sumber daya manusia Indonesia. Penerima beasiswa dapat mengikuti
program studi internasional dalam bahasa Inggris, yaitu: master course, short
course, atau tailor made training. Program StuNed merupakan bagian dari kerja
sama bilateral pemerintah Belanda dengan Indonesia.

Modalitas Program StuNed:


1. PROGRAM MASTER (aplikasi individu)
Program Master diselenggarakan oleh institusi pendidikan tinggi
internasional di Belanda untuk jangka waktu pendidikan 12-24 bulan dan
diakhiri dengan diperolehnya gelar Master dari Belanda yang diakreditasi
oleh NVAO (Nederlands – Vlaamse Accreditatie Organisatie)
2. PROGRAM SHORT COURSE (aplikasi individu)
Program Short Course meliputi kursus-kursus spesialis bertaraf internasional
dengan waktu penyelenggaraan 2 – 12 minggu dan diakhiri dengan
pemberian sertifikat atau diploma.
3. PROGRAM TAILOR MADE TRAINING (aplikasi group)
Program Tailor Made Training diperuntukkan bagi organisasi yang

berkeinginan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas sumber daya manusianya.


Program Tailor Made Training biasanya berlangsung selama 3 minggu dan
diberikan oleh institusi pendidikan tinggi internasional atau pusat
pengetahuan keahlian lainnya. Pilihan modul, jadwal, lokasi dan jangka
waktu disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan organisasi pemohon.

6. BRITISH CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP


Nama beasiswa Chevening sendiri tentu sudah tidak asing lagi. Beasiswa ini
rutin ditawarkan setiap tahunnya termasuk bagi pelajar Indonesia yang
berminat melanjutkan kuliah di Inggris. Tidak hanya itu, beasiswa ini juga
ditujukan bagi calon pemimpin masa depan, orang-orang berpengaruh, serta
pengambil keputusan untuk mengembangkan diri secara profesional dan

UNIT 3: Scholarship Interview Question

A. BEHAVIOURAL QUESTION
1. Q: Tell me about your self
A: Thank you for the opportunity. Alright, I would like to introduce my self. My
name is Dini Gustiningsih. You can call me Dini. I have graduated from Bogor
Agricultural University or IPB, majoring Department of Agronomy and
Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture. I am from Majalengka, west Java. When I was
a student in IPB, I always try to balance between hardskill and softskill. I joined
some organizations to improve my hardskill. In academic side, I had experiences
to be a practicum assistant in Biology and practicum assistant for seed
technology. I like writing of paper as well. Some of my papers had been presented
in International Scientific Paper Contest, Renewable Energy Confrence, Berlin,
German (2010) and one year later I also presented my paper in Annual Meeting of
Science and Technology, Tokyo, Japan (2011). I was in Japan for a week. Japan is
really the nice country. So, I hope that I could continue my education to higher
degree in Japan.

2. Q: How is your family opinion about you studying abroad?


A: They knew about my dreams, so they always give full of support for me to
study abroad. I feel grateful having family who could support me to reach my
dream. Especially my father, the most precious person in my life, he really support
me to study abroad. He had passed way in August 2016. It was really dificult time
for me because I very close with my father. The last messege for me was his
support to continue my master degree in Japan, as my dreams. So that, I will try
hard to reach my dream, to meet the last message of my dear father as well. I
believe if there is a will, there is a way.

3. Q: What’s your purpose coming to Japan and why do you choose university of
Tsukuba?
A: Infact, many people want to go to Japan. Japan has a good culture. Japan is not
only a nice country but also the right place to study. Because Japan is one of
country that very corcern about the quality of the education. There were many
kinds of deep research conducted in Japan. A week in Japan made me sure that
Japan is the right choice where I have to continue my education to higher degree.
When I was in Japan for a week, I spent 3 days in Tsukuba and the remaining in
Tokyo. In my opinion, university of Tsukuba is a green campus. The air is very
fresh. Sciences growing rapidly there. I also have got an LoA to be a master
student candidate from one of sensei in Epigenetic Lab, Department
Agrobioresource Science, Faculty of Life Science University of Tsukuba.

4. Q: Please elaborate your study plan?


A: Plants as we know, is a producer in a food chain. Plants is really important and
crucial for existance many organisms in this earth. Many things have been done to
increase crop productions, such as to set flowering processes with vernalization
and de-vernalization methods. Many plants flower in spring. The process by which
the prolonged cold of winter accelerates flowering in spring termed vernalization.

De-vernalization also takes place by short exposure to heat. vernalization is


regulated by an epigenetic mechanism. Epigenetic is mechanism that cause
heritable but potentially reversible changes in gene expression. The central gene
of vernalization in the crucifer family is an inhibitor of flowering called FLC,
epigenetically silenced during winter. This project will utilize mainly the annual
plant Arabidopsis thaliana as well as other relatives of the same family that
require more than one year to complete their life cycle (perennial) including
Arabidopsis halleri and Wasabi. I would do research about this topic in epigentics
laboratory during my master program in agro-biological resources sciences,
University of Tsukuba, Japan.

5. Q: How important/significant in your research? How about its apication in


Indonesia?
A: This project will connect the physiological conditions of de-vernalized state
with their epigenetic determinants in annuals and perennials. In the future, this
will contribute to better control the timing of flowering in agricultural crops in
Indonesia that require vernalization and will be exposed to erratic climate change.
In Indonesia it self, vernalization could be used to onion. As we know, onion is one
of crucial comodity nowdays. The price tends to increase and used as a basic
seasoning for all of various foods. So that,...............

6. Q: After graduating from University of Tsukuba, what are you going to do? What’s
your future plan?
A: My passion is teaching. I want to be in a lecturer and scientist. After completing
master degree, I would apply to be a lecturer in a university, such as IPB. Another
planning, before to be lecturer I would like to continue my study to doctoral
program as well. I would implement my research in Japan to increase the farmers
walfare. Finally, in the future, I could positively contribute to development of
Indonesia Agriculture.

7. Q: Do you think you will be able to live in Japan with all of the differences?
A: It is an interesting question. My first experience to study so far away from my
hometown in Majalengka when I started study in IPB, Bogor. Majalengka is like a
village in west Java. It is about 8-10 hours from Majalngka to Bogor. I have no one
in Bogor, but it was chalanging me. Because I could adaptive to change and having
a good self motivated, I could run my study well and smoothly. So that I could
became the outstanding student in Faculty of Agriculture in 2011. The other
experiences when I went abroad to present my paper in German and Japan. There
were many things that I could learn there. It made me addiction to go back there.
Especially in Japan, leaving very nice memories in my heart. Those experiences
made me sure that I could be able to be adaptive with all the differences if I life in
Japan in the future.

8. Q: What do you know about inpex?


A: Inpex is a worldwide oil and gas exploration and production company based in
Japan. Inpex started the company in 1966 in Indonesia with the name North
Sumatra Offshore Petroleum Exploration, Co.Ltd as a pioneer in the exploration of
water in the world. Inpex has high ranks among the global company main side
super independet upstream. Inpex scholrship is a charity program from inpex. I
really apreciate it. Indonesia and Japan have a strong bonding since historical time
many years ago. So that I want to be a part of inpex family, and together
maintaining a good relationship between Indonesia and Japan.

UNIT 5: Psycological Assestment & LGD (Leaderless Group Discussion)

A. DEFINISI
LEADERLESS GROUP DISCUSSION (LGD) adalah seleksi tahapan keempat atau
terakhir yang wajib diikuti oleh setiap pelamar beasiswa yang didanai oleh Kementerian
Keuangan Republik Indonesia melalui Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pandidikan (LPDP). Tentu
sangat banyak orang yang tidak tahu tentang hal ini. Apalagi istilahnya saja sudah
menggunakan Bahasa Asing yakni Bahasa Inggris. Oleh karena itu, tulisan singkat ini akan
membahas secara khusus mengenai: Apa itu LGD? Mengapa disebut LGD? Dan, Bagaimana
aturan main selama LGD itu berlangsung?
Ketika seorang pelamar Beasiswa LPDP selesai mengikuti tahap pengecekan berkas
dan tes tertulis dengan menulis essay di tempat secara langsung (on the spot writing), mereka
akan dibagi dalam kelompok yang terdiri beberapa orang. Dalam dinamika kelompok itulah
mereka akan mengikuti proses tahapan seleksi dengan Leaderless Group Discussion

(LGD) yang disaksikan langsung oleh tim seleksi. Sehingga selanjutnya mari kita lihat satu
demi satu pembahasannya!

Apa itu Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD)?


Ada banyak sumber yang menjelaskan tentang pengertian dari istilah tersebut baik
dalam Media Cetak maupun Online. Sehingga dari berbagai sumber tersebut dipahami
bahwa Leaderless Group Discussion(LGD) itu sendiri adalah sebuah bentuk tes lisan yang
menggunakan format diskusi dengan dinamika kelompok. Lazimnya dalam sebuah
kelompok terdiri dari 5-9 orang.
Bedanya dengan jenis diskusi yang lain adalah tujuan dari diskusi itu sendiri.
Misalnya Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Jenis diskusi ini bertujuan hanya untuk
mengumpulkan data atau informasi dari setiap peserta dalam diskusi. Akan tetapi LGD
bertujuan untuk mengamati perilaku seseorang selama diskusi berlangsung. Sehingga
sangatlah jelas bahwa menunjukkan sikap dan perilaku yang wajar dan pantas di
hadapan tim seleksi menjadi hal yang krusial untuk diperhatikan.

Mengapa disebut Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD)?


Alasan disebut Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD) adalah karena selama proses
jalannya diskusi tidak ada yang ditunjuk ataupun dipilih untuk berperan sebagai
pemimpin dalam kelompok secara resmi. Seluruh anggota dalam kelompok dapat duduk
sejajar dengan hak dan kewajiban yang sama (leaderless). Sehingga, siapa saja dari
kelompok tersebut bisa membuka dan mengakhiri jalannya diskusi seketika sudah siap
dan selesai pembahasannya.
Namun demikian, tidak perluh dikuatirkan lagi tentang lancar dan tidaknya diskusi
dalam kelompok karena sebelumnya akan diberikan pengarahan terlebih dahulu oleh
tim seleksi. Baik itu informasi tentang tugas dan tanggungjawab setiap anggota, durasi
waktu yang dimiliki oleh kelompok hingga seperangkat aspek yang hendak dinilai.
Sehingga, pada bagian selanjutnya akan dijelaskan secara detail mengenai bagaimana
proses dalam Tes LGD itu sendiri.

B. PROSEDUR:
Bagaimana Aturan Main Selama Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD) Berlangsung?
Lazimnya dalam Format LGD terdiri dari 5-9 peserta tes. Sementara topik yang
harus dibahas dalam kelompok diskusi tersebut selalu disediakan oleh penitia seleksi.
Biasanya topik dan materi bahan diskusinya dalam bentuk sebuah cerita studi kasus atau
narasi yang penjang. Sehingga tugas dari setiap peserta adalah menanggapi dengan
memberikan komentar-komentar yang sifatnya kritis dan konstruktif terhadap bahan
bacaan tersebut.
Tujuan utama dari diskusi tersebut adalah agar setiap peserta mampu memberikan
ide yang kreatif untuk mendapatkan solusi pada kasus yang dibahas dalam bacaan.
Sehingga setiap peserta diharapkan mampu mendengarkan dan menerima segala
perbedaan pendapat dari anggota kelompok diskusinya. Sembari menunjukkan sikap
dan perilaku yang sopan dan wajar selama diskusi berlangsung. Karena hal inilah yang
akan lebih diperharikan oleh tim seleksi.

Selain itu, setidaknya ada empat hal yang wajib diperhatikan oleh setiap peserta
diskusi selama diskusi berlangsung. Keempat aspek tersebut antara lain:
1. Harus ada salah seorang dari anggota yang mau membuka ataupun menutup
jalannya diskusi. Kesediaan tersebut harus secara sukarela karena prinsip dari jenis
diskusi ini tidak ada pemimpin atau moderator yang memimpin karena setiap peserta
punya hak dan kewajiban yang sama.
2. Setiap peserta wajib mengutarakan pendapat atau opininya secara jelas, tepat dan
bertanggung jawab. Hal ini berarti bahwa apapun jenis pendapatnya entah itu kritik,
saran ataupun sanggahan mesti sesuai dengan pokok permasalahan yang sedang
dibahas.
3. Pertanyaan dari setiap peserta tidak boleh yang sifatnya
menyerang (offensive) karena ini diskusi bukan debat. Terlebih ketika dalam
penyampaian pernyataan yang sifatnya berbeda pendapat. Nilai sopan santun dan
etika dalam berdiskusi harus nampak.
4. Aspek yang akan dinilai di sini adalah bukan seberapa hebat secara individu dalam
berargumen tetapi bagaimana seseorang itu bisa bekerja sama dalam tim. Sehingga
sangat jelas bahwa target akhir dari rangkaian diskusi tersebut adalah untuk
menyatukan segala pendapat berbeda itu menjadi sebuah kesimpulan yang
konstrutif dan inovatif.

Hal ini sangat penting untuk diingat karena seringkali ada peserta yang cenderung
mau mendominasi “show off” sepanjang diskusi berlangsung. Padahal hal tersebut
adalah kesalahan yang fatal. Karena hal yang sangat diharapkan dari diskusi ini adalah
kerjasama tim (team work) dan interaksi sosial.
Mengingat LGD adalah jenis diskusi untuk menilai sikap dan perilaku seseorang
maka setidaknya ada beberapa hal yang patut diperhatikan oleh setiap peserta dalam
diskusi. Berikut adalah rangkuman dari beberapa sumber tentang aspek yang hendak
diperhatikan perserta tes, antara lain: Pertama,Ketenangan, Kedewasaan dan
kemampuan mengelola emosi; Kedua, Kemampuan mengutarakan pendapat etika
berbicara dan diskusi; Ketiga, Kemampuan Berpikir kritis dan strategis; Keempat, Sikap
dan perilaku di dalam forum; Kelima, Kemampuan menghargai orang
lain; Keenam, Kepercayaan diri; dan Tahu diri.

C. SKENARIO LGD: Selain itu, ada beberapa tema LGD yang saya tahu
ketika bertanya dari peserta-peserta lain, yaitu:
