A. PENGERTIAN PRODUKSI MASSAL

Produksi = sebuah kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk membuat /

menghasilkan suatu barang / produk.

Massal = melibatkan suatu kelumpok/ orang

Dapat di artikan sebagai kegiatan produksi yang di lakukan dalam

jumlah besar dan melibatkan suatu kelompok untuk kegiatan
pembuatan produk tersebut, kemudian dipasarkan untuk massal. Secara
terus menerus.

1. JENIS JENIS PRODUKSI BERDASARKAN LAPANGAN USAHA

a. Produksi ekstraktif = produksi yang kegiatannya mengumpulkan

b. Produk agraris = produksi yang kegiatannya mengolah alam, atau
memanfaatkan SDA
c. Produksi industry = kegiatan produksi yang mengolah bahan mentah menjadi
bahan atau produk yang siap pakai
d. Produksi perdagangan = kegiatannya sebagai perantara pemindahan hak milik barang
dariprodusen ke konsumen ( distribusi )
e. Produksi pengangkutan / transportasi = kegiatannya memperpendek jarak antara produsen
ke konsumen (pengangkutan barang )
f. Produksi Jasa = Lapangan usaha yang kegiatannya memberikan pelayanan
kepada masyarakat. Contohnya dokter dan guru
 2. Jenis Produksi Berdasarkan Sifatnya

Jenis produksi berdasarkan sifatnya adalah sebagai berikut.

a. Produksi Massal

Produksi massal adalah produksi yang dibuat untuk kepentingan massa atau
umum dan dibuat secara massal dalam jumlah banyak, misalnya produksi
rokok, sabun, kendaraan, dan minuman. Produksi massal juga dikenal dengan
produksi massa berseri, misalnya televisi dengan berbagai ukuran layar.
Produksi massal, yang juga dikenal sebagai aliran produksi atau produksi
terus-menerus, merupakan sištem produksi dalam skala besar dari produk.
 2. Jenis Produksi Berdasarkan Sifatnya

b. Produksi Satuan
Produksi satuan adalah produksi yang dibuat berdasarkan pesanan
dengantujuan untuk melayani kepentingan perorangan atau pesanan yang
dibuatdengan jumlah terbatas. Produksi ini juga dikenal dengan produksi
berseridengan berbagai ukuran.

B. KARAKTERISTIK PRODUKSI MASSAL

Produksi massal memiliki beberapa ciri utama. Adapun ciri-ciri tersebutadalah sebagai berikut.
1. Produk dihasilkan dalam jumlah besar (produksi besar-besaran).
2. Tujuan produksi adalah untuk menguasai pasar
3. Produk dijual di pasar bebas (free market).
4. Variasi produk kecil.
5. Harus ada persediaan untuk memenuhi permintaan pada masa tunggu (lead time).
6. Standardisasi urutan produk dan proses.
7. Memiliki mesin khusus dengan kapasitas produksi yang lebih tinggi.
8. Mempersingkat waktu siklus produksi.
9 Lebih rendah dalam persediaan proses.
10. Aliran material, komponen, dan suku cadang yang terus-menerus.
11. Perencanaan produksi dan kontrol mudah.
12. Penanganan material dapat sepenuhnya otomatis

1. Keuntungan Produksi Massal

Produksi massal memiliki beberapa keuntungan. Adapun keuntungan dari produksi massal itu
adalah sebagai berikut.
1. Tingkat produksi tinggi dengan mengurangi waktu siklus.
2.Proses inventarisasi mudah.
3.Biaya manufaktur per unit rendah.
Produk yang diproduksi secara massal dirakit pada tingkat yang lebih cepat karena
peningkatan otomatisasi dan efisiensi. Hal ini dibantu dengan distribusi yang cepat dan
pemasaran produk dengan potensi untuk menciptakan keunggulan kompetitif, yang seringkali
menghasilkan keuntungan lebih tinggi. Misalnya,McDonald's memiliki keunggulan
kompetitif karena kecepatan menghasilkan makanan untuk pelanggan yang sadar waktu.
Keterbatasan Produksi Massal
 2. Keterbatasan produksi massal

Sayangnya produksi massal mempunyai keterbatasan.

Keterbatasan produksi massal meliputi hal-hal berikut ini.
1. Penghentian satu mesin akan menghentikan jalur produksi
keseluruhan.
2. Tata letak garis membutuhkan perubahan besar dengan
perubahan dalam desain produk.
3. Tingginya investasi pada fasilitas produksi.

What. Apa operasi-operasi yang sebenarnya diperlukan? Dapatkah bebers

operasi dihilangkan, dikombinasikan, atau disederhanakan? Apakah produk
han dirancang kembali untuk memudahkan produksi?
Who. Siapa yang akan melaksanakan masing-masing operasi? Apakah sema
karyawan atau hanya beberapa karyawan tertentu saja'? Dapatkah operasi-
operasi dikombinasikan untuk memperluas pekerjaan dan meningkatkan
produktivitas?
Where. Di mana masing-masing operasi dilaksanakan'? Apakah pekerjaan
hanya dapat dilakukan pada tempat-tempat tertentu atau dapat dilakukan di
tempat. tempat lain? Dapatkah layout fasilitas diperbaiki untuk mengurangi
jarak angkut?

PERSOALAN MENDASAR TERKAIT PERENCANAAN PRODUKSI

When. Kapan setiap operasi dilaksanakan? Apakah ada penundaan atau

kelambatan yang berlebihan? Adakah operasi yang menciptakan kemacetan’?
How. Bagaimana operasi akan dilakukan? Metode-metode atau peralatan apa
yang akan digunakan? Perencanaan produk bersifat lebih luas dari
perencanaan produksi.
