KODIFIKASI
PENYAKIT &
TINDAKAN I
(General Codding) 1
Anatomy and physiology of the
respiratory system
• Setiap sel dalam tubuh manusia
membutuhkan pasokan oksigen yang
konstan untuk dapat bertahan hidup dan
menjalankan fungsinya.
• Proses di mana organ dan jaringan tubuh
diberikan oksigen disebut respirasi
2
Respiration - inspiration
• Paru-paru menghirup
udara, yang
mengandung campuran
gas termasuk oksigen
disebut inspirasi
• Aliran darah kemudian
mengambil oksigen dari
paru-paru dan
memindahkannya ke
seluruh tubuh.
3
Respiration – internal
respiration
• Semua sel dalam
jaringan tubuh menerima
oksigen mereka dengan
menyerapnya dari suplai
darah. (respirasi internal)
• Darah menukar oksigen
untuk produk limbah,
terutama karbon
dioksida, yang diambil
dari sel dan dibawa
kembali ke paru-paru
4
Respiration – expiration
• Ketika produk limbah mencapai
paru-paru, dibuang melalui
proses yang disebut expiration
• Inspiration dan expiration
adalah kata-kata yang
digunakan untuk
menggambarkan proses
bernapas masuk dan keluar. Ini
juga disebut respirasi
eksternal.
5
Upper respiratory tract
• Rongga ini berisi selaput lendir
dan rambut halus yang disebut
silia.
• Fungsi menghentikan
masuknya benda asing dan
membantu menghangatkan
dan melembabkan udara.
• Ada ujung saraf di atap hidung
yang bisa mendeteksi bau.
• saraf penciuman membawa
impuls ke otak yang mengenali
bau
6
Upper respiratory tract
• Nasopharynx, terdiri dr pharyngeal
tonsils/ adenoids, merupakan
kumpulan lymphatic tissue
• Oropharynx, terdiri dr palatine tonsils,
dikelilingi lymphatic tissue
• Laryngopharynx, dua fungsi untuk
makanan dari mulut dan udara dari
hidung. Membagi menjadi dua
cabang: satu adalah larynx (kotak
suara). Cabang lainnya adalah
esofagus yang merupakan bagian
dari saluran pencernaan bagian atas
7
Lower respiratory tract
• Trakea adalah tabung yang
berisi cincin tulang rawan
dan jaringan ikat yang
membuatnya tetap terbuka.
• Ketika trakea mencapai
mediastinum, ia membagi
pada carina menjadi dua
tabung, yang disebut
bronchial tubes,
or bronchi
8
Lower respiratory tract
• Pd ujung bronkus adalah cabang
terkecil, yang disebut bronchioles. Ini
berakhir dengan tandan kantung udara
yang disebut alveoli.
• Setiap alveolus memiliki lapisan yang
terdiri dari lapisan satu sel epitel.
Dinding yang sangat tipis ini adalah
tempat pertukaran gas terjadi. Oksigen
dikirim ke aliran darah dan karbon
dioksida dikumpulkan untuk dibuang.
• Eritrosit atau sel darah merah adalah
sel yang membawa oksigen ke seluruh
bagian tubuh dan karbon dioksida
kembali ke paru-paru untuk ditukar.
9
Lower respiratory tract
• Bronkus, bronchioles, dan alveoli ada di
dalam dua paru-paru. ditutupi oleh
membran yang disebut pleura.
• Lapisan pleura yang melapisi rongga
dada adalah pleura parietal dan lapisan
dalam yang menutupi paru-paru adalah
pleura visceral.
• Pleura dibasahi dengan sekresi serosa,
yaitu cairan encer yang membantu paru-
paru bergerak di dalam dada (thorax).
• Kedua paru-parunya tidak persis sama.
Paru kanan lebih besar dari keduanya,
dan dibagi menjadi tiga lobus. Paru kiri
lebih kecil dan hanya memiliki dua lobus.
10
Lower respiratory tract
• Diafragma mengandung otot yang
kuat yang membantu dalam
proses pernapasan. Ini adalah
inspirasi atau inhalasi.
• Untuk mengeluarkan udara dari
paru-paru, diafragma melemaskan
dan bergerak ke atas, membuat
area di rongga toraks menjadi
lebih kecil dan meningkatkan
tekanan udara di dada.
• Udara kemudian dikeluarkan dari
paru-paru untuk menyamakan
tekanan.
11
Chapter X - Diseases of the respiratory system
13
• Croup is a viral infection of the throat and
trachea causing a hoarse voice, noisy breathing
and a harsh, barking cough. Croup usually
occurs in young children.
• Diphtheria is a bacterial infection of the throat,
tonsils and nose. A white or grey-looking
membrane (which initially looks like a spider
web) forms on the back of the throat or in the
nose causing an obstruction and difficulty
breathing.
14
• Epiglottitis is an uncommon but serious
infection of the epiglottis. When the
epiglottis becomes infected it becomes
swollen and red, and can block the airway.
• Pertussis (also known as whooping cough)
is a highly infectious bacterial respiratory
infection. Children with pertussis have a
characteristic paroxysmal cough with
inspiratory whoop.
15
• Tonsillitis involves infection of the
pharyngeal tonsils (at the back of the
throat) caused by a viral or bacterial
infection. It causes a sore throat.
• URTI stands for Upper Respiratory Tract
Infection. This is an acute viral
inflammatory disease which affects the
nose, paranasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx,
trachea and bronchi.
16
common conditions of the lower
respiratory tract.
17
Asthma
• occurs in people who have very sensitive airways that
narrow in response to certain "triggers".
• This leads to difficulty in breathing. The airway narrowing
is caused by inflammation and swelling of the airway
lining, the tightening of the airway muscles, and the
production of excess mucus.
• This reduces the airflow in and out of the lungs and
results in a characteristic wheezing sound when the
person breathes.
18
Bronchiectasis
• is a relatively rare condition affecting the
bronchi and lungs.
• The bronchi become enlarged, forming areas
where infection may gather.
• The walls of the bronchi are damaged and
the cilia, which work to keep the respiratory
system clean, are destroyed.
• Without the cilia, germs and foreign material
accumulate, causing infection.
19
Acute bronchitis
• occurs when the linings of the trachea and
bronchi become red and swollen and excessive
mucus is produced.
• This causes wheezing and coughing.
• Chronic bronchitis is a progressive inflammatory
disease caused by extended exposure to
irritants such as tobacco smoke or atmospheric
pollutants.
• It can lead to more severe breathing disorders.
20
Chronic obstructive lung
disease (COLD)
• (also known as chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease (COPD)), is the
collective term for a number of respiratory
diseases that prevent the lungs from
breathing properly.
• Two of the most common types of COPD
are emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
21
Emphysema
• occurs when the alveoli and the narrow
passages leading to these air sacs
become permanently swollen and lose
their elasticity, which makes breathing
difficult.
22
Pneomoconioses
• are a group of lung diseases that are
caused by people breathing polluted
gases.
• Fibrosis of the lung tissue occurs.
• Examples are silicosis and asbestosis.
23
Pneumonia
• is an infection of the lungs, caused by
bacteria or viruses.
• People with pneumonia usually get short
of breath because the infection blocks
airways in the lungs, interfering with the
movement of oxygen from the air into the
blood.
24
Pneumothorax
• is another name for a collapsed lung.
• This occurs when air collects in the pleural space
between the lung and the chest wall.
• The pressure of the air inside and outside the lung
determines the extent of lung collapse.
• Spontaneous pneumothorax occurs when there is no
penetrating wound and may be caused by physical
activities, such as scuba diving, high-altitude flying,
vigorous stretching or from the rupture of an air sac in
the lung caused by a lung disease such as asthma.
Pneumothorax may also be due to trauma, when there is
a wound to the chest and air leaks into the pleural space
and causes the lung to collapse. 25
Tuberculosis (or TB)
• is an infection caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium
tuberculosis, commonly affecting the lungs.
• In some cases the disease affects other parts of the
body, such as lymph glands, bones, or kidneys.
• Initial infection of the lung often occurs during childhood
and goes unnoticed.
• However, a few bacteria continue to survive at the site of
infection. Later in life, the infection can reactivate and a
serious lung infection occurs
