 “Controlling adalah serangkaian kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk
menilai apakah aktivitas yang dilakukan dalam suatu organisasi
telah berjalan dengan baik dan memastikan bahwa tujuan
organisasi telah tercapai. Sebuah organisasi membutuhkan sistem
pengendalian yang baik.”

Control dalam arti pengawasan
Control dalam arti pengawasan pada dasarnya merupakan proses
yang dilakukan untuk memastikan agar apa yang telah direncanakan
berjalan sehagaimana mestinya. Termasuk ke dalam fungsi
pengawasan adalah identifikasi berbagai faktor yang memperlambat
sebuah kegiatan, dan juga pengambilan tindakan koreksi yang
diperlukan agar tujuan organisasi dapat tetap tercapai. Sebagai
kesimpulan, fungsi pengawasan diperlukan untuk memastikan
apakah apa yang telah direncanakan dan diorganisasikan berjalan
sebagairnana mestinya ataukah tidak. Jika tidak berjalan dengan
sernestinya, maka fungsi pengawasan juga melakukan proses untuk
mengoreksi kegiatan yang sedang berjalan agar dapat tetap mencapai
apa yang telah direncanakan.

Pengertian Sistem
“Secara umum, sistem dapat diartikan sebagai kumpulan objek atau unsur-
unsur yang saling berhubungan dan saling bekerja sama untuk mencapai
suatu tujuan tertentu. Dalam suatu organisasi, sebuah sistem diterapkan dan
biasanya merupakan cara berulang untuk melaksanakan suatu kegiatan atau
serangkaian tindakan. Sistem dicirikan oleh ritme yang lebih sedikit,
terkoordinasi, dan serangkaian langkah berulang yang dimaksudkan untuk
mencapai tujuan yang ditentukan.”
