FOLDED PLATE
 PENGERTIAN

Struktur folded plate adalah struktur planar kaku yang secara khas terbuat dari material
monolith yang tingginya kecil/tipis dibandingkan dengan dimensi-dimensi lainnya.
 DEFINISI

Struktur folded plate merupakan rakitan pelat yang cenderung

ke arah yang berbeda dan bergabung di sepanjang tepi
memanjangnya.
(S. Aroni, 1964).

Struktur folded plate terdiri dari serangkaian elemen planar tipis

atau pelat datar yang terhubung satu sama lain di sepanjang
tepinya, biasanya digunakan pada bentang panjang, terutama
untuk atap.

Secara longitudinal, pelat dapat kontinu di atas penyangga.

Secara melintang, di setiap rongga dapat terdapat beberapa pelat
di setiap. Bagian tepi atau lipatan dapat mentransmisikan
momen dan geser atau hanya geser.
 PRINSIP
Struktur lipatan adalah bentuk yang terjadi pada lipatan bidang-bidang datar dimana kekakuan dan kekuatannya terletak
pada keseluruhan bentuk itu sendiri. Bentuk lipatan ini mempunyai kekakuan yang lebih dibandingkan dengan bentuk-
bentuk yang datar dengan luas yang sama dan dari bahan yang sama pula. Hal ini dapat dijelaskan karena momen energia
yang didapat dari bentuk lipatan akan jauh lebih besar daripada momen energia yang didapat dari bidang datar. Dengan
terbentuk nyalipatan ini, gaya-gaya akibat berat sendiri dan gaya-gaya luar dapat ditahan oleh bentuk itu sendiri.
 SISTEM PEMBEBANAN DAN GAYA
Pada awalnya dalam proses distribusi beban, kekuatan eksternal dipindahkan ke tepi yang lebih pendek dari suatu elemen
lipat. Kemudian, reaksi sebagai gaya aksial dibagi antara elemen-elemen yang berdekatan sebelum akhirnya gaya
dipindahkan ke bantalan.

 SISTEM STABILITASI
Tekuk (bending) pada pelat yang terlipat menyebabkan tekanan atas dan tegangan bawah. Folded plate juga cenderung
menjadi rata di bawah beban gravitasi, yang dapat dicegah dengan dinding atau bingkai pada penyangga akhir.
Kecenderungan panel tepi melengkung atau tertekuk (buckling) dapat ditangkal oleh balok tepi.

Tekuk (bending) divisualisasikan sebagai gaya tekanan dan tegangan eksternal

 FOLDED PLATE CONCEPT
Efek melipat pada struktur folded plate dapat divisualisasikan dengan selembar kertas. Sebuah kertas pipih terdeformasi
bahkan oleh beratnya sendiri. Melipat kertas tersebut menambah kekuatan dan kekakuan, namun di bawah beban yang berat,
lipatan itu dapat melengkung atau tertekuk (bending). Dengan mengunci lipatan di kedua ujungnya dapat meningkatkan
stabilitas terhadap tekuk.

Efek melipat pada struktur folded plate dapat divisualisasikan dengan selembar kertas. Sebuah kertas pipih terdeformasi
bahkan oleh beratnya sendiri. Melipat kertas tersebut menambah kekuatan dan kekakuan, namun di bawah beban yang berat,
lipatan itu dapat melengkung atau tertekuk (bending). Dengan mengunci lipatan di kedua ujungnya dapat meningkatkan
stabilitas terhadap tekuk.

Jenis struktur plat lipat dibagi menjadi 3 jenis dan dikembangkan dari bentuk dasar. Bentuk prismatis yaitu bentuk yang
terdiri dari bidang-bidang datar yang bersudut siku siku dan bidang-bidang yang melintang tegak lurus pada kedua sisi ujung
bidang datar bersudut siku-siku tersebut. Bentuk piramidal yaitu bentuk yang terdiri dari bidang-bidang dasar berbentuk
segitiga. Bentuk semiprismatis yaitu bentuk gabungan dari bentuk-bentuk diatas.

Komponen dasar dari struktur folded plate terdiri dari: plat
miring, plat tepi yang digunakan untuk menguatkan plat
yang lebar, pengaku untuk membawa beban ke penyangga
dan menyatukan plat, serta kolom untuk menyangga struktur.

Folded plate tiga segmen
Pengaku terakhirnya berupa rangka yang lebih kaku
daripada balok penopang bagian dalam. kekuatan dari reaksi
plat di atas rangka kaku tersebut akan cukup besar dan di
kolom luar tidak akan diseimbangkan oleh daya tolak dari
plat yang berdekatan. ukuran rangka dapat dikurangi dengan
menggunakan tali baja antara ujung kolom

karena tidak menerus dan kedalaman efektifnya lebih kecil

agak kecil, sedangkan pula dicor di tempat atau cetak fabrikasi dengan beton
Berdasarkan pada material, struktur lipat dapat dibagi menjadi konstruksi: beton bertulang, kayu, logam,
bahan kaca dan plastik (polikarbonat, resin sintetis yang diperkuat dengan serat kaca, resin poliester, dll.).

berdasarkan struktur pendukung utama segmen lipatan
dapat dibagi menjadi: panel dan rangka.
d.Kaca
Struktur lipat yang terbuat dari kayu mudah dipindahkan,
