Vesicoureteral Reflux
• is the abnormal flow of urine from bladder back up the tubes (ureters) that
connect the kidneys to bladder.
• It can happen if the valve between the ureter and the bladder does not work
properly, as the result of a congenital defect or a urinary tract
infection (UTI). Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) can also cause an infection,
because bacteria can develop in the urine.
