Pemboran Geothermal adalah pemboran yang berfungsi untuk mencari
energi baru, yakni energi panas bumi. Sehingga energi yang ada di dalam bumi ini
dapat dimamfaatkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusia. Adapun proses
eksplorasi (pencarian) dari panas bumi ini di lakukan oleh perusahan yang
berkembang yakni PT. PERTAMINA GEOTHERMAL ENERGI.
Seiring kemajuan teknologi, penggunaan Energi Panas umi ini dapat di
kembangkan, dan Perusahaan yang memproduksikan atau mengembankan energi
panas bumi tersebut ialah P!. P"!# (Pembangkit "istrik !enaga #ap) sehingga
Panas bumi tersebut dapat bermamfaat sebagai pembangkit tenaga listrik.
Adapun beberapa masalah$masalah yang sering terjadi di pemboran
geothermal yang bisa menghambat proses eksplorasi ataupun produksi. %an
masalah tersebut disebut juga dengan sebutan Hole Problem. Antara lain contoh
dari Hole Problem adalah Well Kick, Losses Circulation, dan Stuck pipe.

Geothermal drilling is drilling a function to search for ne/ energy, the
geothermal energy. So the energy that is in the earth can dimamfaatkan to meet
human needs. !he process of e0ploration (search) of geothermal heat is done by
the company that de1eloped the P!. PE(!A,2)A GE3!4E(,A" E)E(G5.
As technology ad1ances, the use of geothermal energy can be de1eloped,
and the company /hich produces or elicits the geothermal energy is P!. Po/er
plant (Steam Po/er) so that geothermal can bermamfaat as po/erhouse.
As for some of the problems that often occur in geothermal drilling that
could impede the process of e0ploration or production. And the problem is
referred to as 4ole Problem. Among other e0amples of 4ole Problem is, 6ell
