The objectives of this study were: (1) to describe the steps for
applying the Cooperative and Explaining Cooperative learning
model (SFE) in increasing mathematics learning motivation, (2) to
describe an increase in students' mathematics learning motivation
through the application of the Student Facilitator and Explaining
( SFE), and (3) analyze the impact of mathematics learning
motivation on mathematics learning outcomes of fifth grade students
of SD Negeri 1 Kalijoyo academic year 2018/2019.
This study is a collaborative classroom action research conducted in
three cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation,
observation, and reflection. The subjects were fifth grade students of
SDN 1 Kalijoyo in the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 22
students. The data used in the form of qualitative data, namely the
application of the Cooperative and Explaining type Cooperative
models (SFE) and quantitative data, namely questionnaires and tests
of mathematics learning outcomes. Data collection techniques used
observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Data validity uses
technique triangulation and sources. Analysis of quantitative and
qualitative data includes data reduction, data presentation, and
conclusions.
The results of the study showed that: (1) the steps for applying the
Studet Facilitator and Explaining Cooperative type learning model
(SFE) in increasing mathematics learning motivation were: (a)
competency delivery, (b) the teacher delivered the material outline,
(c) heterogeneous group formation, (d) students submit material, (e)
deduce ideas or opinions, (f) teachers explain again, and (g) closure,
(2) application of Studet Facilitator and Explaining type Cooperative
models (SFE) can increase motivation study mathematics fifth grade
students of SDN 1 Kalijoyo academic year 2018/2019. The average
percentage of observations of student motivation in mathematics
learning reached 76.74% in the first cycle, 84.72% in the second
cycle and 90.97% in the third cycle. The average percentage of
student learning motivation questionnaire results reached 78.68% in
the first cycle, 84.64% in the second cycle and 91.86% in the third
cycle, and (3) the motivation to learn mathematics had an impact on
the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth grade students Negeri 1
Kalijoyo academic year 2018/2019. The average percentage of
completeness of students in each cycle increased, starting from 75%
in the first cycle, to 84.09% in the second cycle, and 95.46% in the
third cycle.
The conclusion of this study is that the application of the Student
Facilitator and Explaining type of Cooperative model (SFE) can
increase the motivation to learn mathematics in fifth grade students
of SD Negeri 1 Kalijoyo in the academic year 2018/2019.
