berjalan, merumuskan persamaan simpangan gelombang berjalan, merumuskan
energi pada gelombang berjalan, menjelaskan fase, sudut fase, dan beda fase
gelombang berjalan, melakukan eksperimen untuk menganalisis fenomena
Gelombang Berjalan, menerapkan konsep Gelombang Berjalan pada kehidupan
sehari-hari

E. KARAKTERISTIK
1. Gelombang mekanik adalah sebuah gelombang yang dalam perambatannya
memerlukan medium, yang menyalurkan energi untuk keperluan proses
penjalaran sebuah gelombang.
2. Gelombang berjalan adalah jenis gelombang yang mempunyai sifat amplitudo
yang sama pada setiap titik yang dilalui.

Seutas tali AB yang kita bentangkan mendatar. Ujung B diikatkan pada tiang,
sedangkan ujung A kita pegang. Apabila ujung A kita getarkan naik turun terus-
menerus, maka pada tali tersebut akan terjadi rambatan gelombang dari ujung A
ke ujung B.

Gelombang berjalan merupakan gelombang dengan amplitudo tetap yang
merambat dengan kecepatan tertentu. Gelombang berjalan merambat lurus
pada arah mendatar. Lihat gambar gelombang berikut!

Gelombang berjalan ke arah sumbu x + dengan amplitudo A dan cepat rambat v

2. Persamaan Simpangan Gelombang Berjalan


Gelombang berjalan menyimpang ke arah vertikal (sumbu y) dan
bergerak pada arah mendatar (sumbu x). Atau secara matematis dinyatakan
sebagai, y = f(x,t). Dari gambar di atas juga dapat diketahui bahwa fungsi
dari simpangan merupakan fungsi sinus.

Untuk lebih memahami tentang gelombang berjalan dapat dilihat pada


gambar diatas. Seutas tali AB yang kita bentangkan mendatar. Ujung B
diikatkan pada tiang, sedangkan ujung A kita pegang. Apabila ujung A kita

getarkan naik turun terus-menerus, maka pada tali tersebut akan terjadi
rambatan gelombang dari ujung A ke ujung B. Misalkan amplitudo
getarannya A dan gelombang merambat dengan kecepatan v dan periode
getarannya T.

3. Fase, sudut fase, dan beda fase


Besaran yang juga penting untuk dipelajari adalah fase gelombang. Fase
gelombang dapat didefinisikan sebagai bagian atau tahapan gelombang.
Seperti halnya pada getaran, pada gelombang berjalan pun dikenal
pengertian sudut fase, fase, dan beda fase.
4. Energi Gelombang
Saat gelombang merambat melalui suatu medim, energi dipindahkan
sebagai energi getaran dari satu partikel ke partikel yang lain pada medium
tersebut.
