Satuan Kredit Semester (SKS)

Di PT dikenal sistem SKS. Apakah arti SKS ?

• 1 sks artinya satuan bobot/alokasi waktu 3
jam/minggu/ semester untuk kegiatan akademik
• Satuan tsb berlaku bagi Mahasiswa (M) maupun Dosen
(D)
• 3 jam di atas dapat terdiri dari:
 1 jam (50 menit) tatap muka (M + D)
1 jam tugas terstruktur (M) atau mengoreksi (D)
1 jam belajar mandiri (M dan D), atau
 3 jam praktikum (tanpa tugas), atau
 Kombinasi lain
• Waktu tersebut di luar tidur, perjalanan, makan,
mencuci pakaian, nonton TV dlsb
Satuan Kredit Semester

• Bila mengambil 21 sks, maka untuk belajar saja, harus

diluangkan waktu 21x3 jam = 63 jam/minggu atau
12,6 jam/hari (bila Sabtu-Minggu libur) atau
10,5 jam/hari (bila hanya Minggu libur).

• Dapatkah Anda melaksanakan itu?

RUANG LINGKUP GEOLOGI

• Pengertian dan cara belajar

geologi
• Ilmu-ilmu terkait dengan
geologi
• Sistem dalam geologi
• Mengapa belajar geologi?
Pengertian dan cara belajar geologi

• Geology is the study of the Earth as a whole,

its origin, structure, composition, and
history (including the development of life),
and the nature of the processes which have
given rise to its present state.

Whitten, DGA and Brooks, JRV. 1977. The Penguin

Dictionary of Geology. Middlesex: Penguin Books. p.
204.
Pengertian dan cara belajar geologi

• Mengikuti pendidikan kebumian

• Lokatama untuk belajar geologi:
– Perpustakaan termasuk internet
– Laboratorium (studio) dan museum geologi
– Lapangan
• Sebagaimana pembelajaran ilmu alam yang lain,
dalam menghadapi bahan atau fenomena geologi
perlu dilakukan:
– Observasi (pengamatan),
– Analisis, dan
– Sintesis
Pengertian dan cara belajar geologi

Perhatikan
• Belum dikatakan belajar geologi jika belum ke
perpustakaan, laboratorium, dan lapangan
(survei)!
• Apakah FTM UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta
memfasilitasi pembelajaran di 3 (tiga) lokatama
−termasuk museum− tersebut di atas?
