A. PERSONAL PRONOUN

Personal pronouns are pronouns for people, animals, places


or things.

In sentences, personal pronouns can be used as subjects


(subjects of verbs) or objects (objects of verbs)

Personal pronouns adalah kata ganti untuk orang, binatang,


tempat, atau sesuatu benda.

Dalam kalimat, personal pronouns dapat digunakan sebagai


subjek (the subject of a verb) maupun objek (the object of a verb)
This table shows the change in form, for example from "I"
to "Me". It means the same, but because of the different

For the personal pronoun at the beginning of the sentence, the subject form is
Dia
She Her (perempuan) used. If the personal pronoun is in the middle or end of a sentence, then the
object form is used
We Us Kami / Kita
Untuk personal pronoun yang berada di awal kalimat, maka yang digunakan
They Them Mereka
adalah bentuk subject. Jika personal pronoun berada di tengah atau akhir
menunjuk benda kalimat, maka yang digunakan adalah bentuk object
It It atau hewan

Personal Pronoun as Object Pronoun

Abin wants us to join (Abin menginginkan kami bergabung) Abin = as Subject
and us as object
Lidia is praying between them (Lidia sedang berdoa di antara mereka) Lidia as
Subject and them as object
This is a very good novel. We like it. (Ini adalah sebuah novel yang sangat baik.

Last Thursday, Nash went to his friend's house, Ali.
.He.. wanted to study English together with him
Before heading to Ali's house, .He. visited Doni first ,

B. Reflexive Pronoun (Kata Ganti Diri)
Reflexive pronoun is used to refer to objects that explain the offender or related subject
Reflexive pronoun digunakan untuk merujuk pada objek yang menerangkan kembali pelaku
atau subjek terkait.

Ada perbedaan yang mendasar yang terdapat pada Reflexive Pronoun untuk subjek tunggal dan subjek
jamak. Letak perbedaannnya pada tata cara penulisan, untuk lebih jelas mari kita perhatikan tabelnya.
EXAMPLE REFLEXIVE PRONOUN
I clean the house by myself. (Saya membersihkan rumah seorang diri.)
I myself clean the house (Saya sendiri membersihkan rumah)

You put yourself in trouble. (Kamu membuat dirimu sendiri dalam masalah.)
You put in trouble by yourself (Kamu membuat masalah dirimu sendiri.)

Siera blame herself for not being good to her husband. (Siera menyalahkan dirinya sendiri karena tidak
baik kepada suaminya.)

He does not like to boast about himself. (Dia tidak suka menyombongkan dirinya sendiri.)

My Ipad keeps on restarting by itself. (Ipad saya selalu mengulang dengan sendirinya.)

Kevin and Steffi raise their kids themselves. (Kevin dan Steffi membesarkan anak-anak mereka
sendiri.)

Gina and I will go home by ourselves. (Gina dan saya akan pulang ke rumah sendiri.)

You should do everything by yourselves starting today! (Kalian harus melakukan

C. POSSESIVE PRONOUN

Possessive Pronouns are pronouns used to


represent or replace ownership of people, things, or
animals.
Possessive pronoun doesn't need a noun anymore
because it has replaced the noun itself

Possessive Pronouns adalah kata ganti yang digunakan


untuk mewakili atau menggantikan kepemilikan dari
orang, benda, atau binatang.
Possessive pronoun tidak membutuhkan kata benda
(noun) lagi karena sudah menggantikan noun itu sendiri

Theirs (milik mereka)


Our team is the blue one, and theirs is red (tim kita berwarna biru, dan tim mereka berwarna merah)
That book belongs to those kids. That book is theirs (buku itu milik anak-anak itu, buku itu milik mereka)

Ours (milik kami)


The cake in the whole town may be tasty, but ours are tastier. (Kue di seluruh kota mungkin saja enak,
tapi kue kami lebih enak)
This apartment belongs to me and my cousin. This apartment is ours (apartemen ini punya aku dan

D. POSSESIVE ADJECTIVE
Posseisve Adjective, is a pronoun (pronoun) of ownership that
contains adjective properties (adjectives) which are always followed
by Noun (nouns) and cannot stand alone.
Always followed by Noun (noun) is a feature and pattern of using
possessive adjective

Posseisve Adjective, merupakan pronoun (kata ganti)


kepemilikan yang mengandung sifat adjective (kata sifat)
yang selalu diikuti oleh Noun (kata benda) dan tidak bisa
berdiri sendiri.
Selalu di ikuti oleh Noun (kata benda) merupakan ciri dan
pola penggunaan possessive adjective
