Pola dan Contoh Kalimat Comparison Degree

Sobat, setelah kalian mengetahui perbedaan dari masing-masing tingkatan. Waktunya kita
bahas tentang Pola dan Contoh kalimat dari Comparison Degree. Skuy, kita bahas satu
persatu:

Positive Degree

Kita bahas yang pertama yaitu: Positive Degree. Pada Positive degree kedua hal yang
dibandingkan berada di level yang sama atau sebanding, oleh karena itu pola/susunan
kalimatnya mengguanakan as adjective/adverb as. Contohnya, “You are as rich as
Rafathar.” (kamu sama kayanya dengan Rafathar). *Wadooo.. aminin ngga tuh sobat hihi..
Comparative Degree

Yang kedua adalah Comparative Degree, menjelaskan salah satu dari kedua hal yang
dibandingkan memiliki sifat ‘lebih’ dibanding hal lainnya, oleh karena itu digunakan
adjective/adverb + -er atau more + adjective/adverb. Contohnya, “Putri is more beautiful
than Jana” (Putri lebih cantik daripada Jana). *Eitss.. yang namnya Putri dilarang insecure
ya, ini Cuma contoh kok sobat hihi..
Superlative Degree

Yang ketiga adalah Superlative Degree, yaitu menjelaskan hal yang dibicarakan memiliki
sifat ‘paling’ di antara yang lainnya, berarti bisa dikatakan kalau Superlative udah ngga ada
tandingannnya nih sobat. Oleh karena itu digunakan adjective/adverb + -est atau most +
adjective/adverb. Contohnya, “She is the most beautiful girl I have ever met” (Dia
perempuan adalah gadis yang paling cantik yang pernah ku temui *ehmm.. terbang ngga tuh
hehe..

Setelah tau pola dan contoh kalimat Comparison Degree, Sobat Pintar pasti bertanya-tanya
dalam hati kan?
“Kapan ya kita harus menggunakan -er/-est dan kapan ya kita harus
menggunakan more/most?”
Penggunaan -er/-est atau more/most harus disesuaikan kembali dengan adjective/adverb yang
digunakan dalam kalimat.
Namun, terdapat beberapa aturan yang harus Sobat Pintar catat nih, antara lain:
Adjective/adverb dengan 1 syllable (suku kata)
Maksud dari 1 syllable (suku kata) yaitu adjective/adverb tersebut tidak dapat dipenggal,
sehingga pengucapannya hanya satu kali saja.
Contohnya:
Slow
Fast
Cheap
Large
Short
Big
Sehingga, Adjective/adverb dengan 1 syllable Pasti/selalu menggunakan -er/-est.
Yang kedua adalah, Adjective/adverb dengan 2 syllables (suku kata)
Jadi maksudnya, dari 2 syllables (suku kata) yaitu adjective/adverb tersebut dapat dipenggal
menjadi 2 Sobat, sehingga pengucapannya terdiri dari 2 kali pengucapan.
Contohnya:
Famous
Happy
Clever
Easy
Sehingga, Adjective/adverb dengan 2 syllables bisa menggunakan -er/-est, bisa juga
menggunakan more/most

Yang terakhir adalah, Adjective/adverb dengan 3 atau lebih syllables (suku kata)
Jadi maksudnya, dari 3 atau lebih syllables (suku kata) yaitu adjective/adverb tersebut dapat
dipenggal menjadi 3 atau lebih Sobat, sehingga pengucapannya terdiri dari 3 kali penguacpan
atau lebih.
Contohnya:
Delicious
Expensive
Comfortable
Dangerous
Sehingga, Adjective/adverb dengan 3 atau lebih syllables selalu menggunakan more/most.
